To place a set of fifth wheel rails in the bed of your 2001 Chevy Silverado 1500 like the universal rail kit part # RP30035 will require you to set the rear rail edge 25-1/8 inches from the rear truck bed edge. To place the front rail you'd want to then put a hitch like the # RP300928 you mentioned in the rear rail and wherever the hitch places the front rail is where it needs to go.
