Will Any Fifth Wheel Hitch Fit in Reese Mounting Rails on a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD
Question:
I have a 2008 Silverado HD2500 with a Reese Mounting rail kit and had a 16K Reese round tube slider hitch until it was stolen. My question is, can I purchase any 5th wheel hitch or am I limited to certain brands and/or models. Thanks in advance.

The Reese fifth wheel installation kits that are available for your 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD are the Reese Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, part # RP30035, which is a universal kit and the Reese Quick-Install Custom Base Rails and Installation Kit, part # RP50064-58, which is a custom install kit.
Both installation kits will accept Curt, Draw-Tite, Hidden Hitch, Reese, Valley and Husky fifth wheel hitches. They will not work with any of the fifth wheel hitches that are designed to be used on under bed installation kits (Reese Elite or Valley UBS).
I would also recommend to use the Reese Pull Pin Lock Plates for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches, part # RP58093, along with the Master Lock Padlock, part # ML1KA. This will lock your fifth wheel hitch to your base rails and prevent the hitch from being stolen.
I am including a link to a FAQ page on fifth wheels.
