Forged, Self-Latching Jaw

Self-Latching Jaw

The one-piece jaw on this fifth-wheel hitch provides absolute security with its wraparound design. Increased jaw-to-king-pin contact results in not only a stronger connection, but less noisy rattling and stiff chucking as well.

The jaw is also always ready to receive, so you don't need to use the handle to open it before backing up toward your trailer. As long as the bail pin is removed from the latching handle, the jaw will accept the king pin as it enters the hitch.

Finally, the jaw is self-latching, so it will automatically secure your trailer's king pin when it moves into the jaw.

Quiet, Comfortable Ride

Pivot Bushings

In addition to the tight jaw tolerance, a close connection between the head and the pivot bushings further reduces rattle and movement. And because the pivot bushings are independent from the head, they can be tightened to ensure a strong connection over time.

King Pin Indicator Prevents High Pinning

King Pin Indicator

This M5 hitch features a built-in king pin indicator to ensure proper hookup. This indicator is located on the back of the head along with a V-shaped notch that are both visible from the cab of your truck. The V-notch is lined up with the jaw at the front of the hitch, and can be used as a guiding point to line the king pin up with the jaw as you back up your truck. The jaw also has an internal plate that keeps the king pin from entering if it is too high to enter safely. As a result, the king pin indicator will only change from red to green if the king pin is fully engaged in the jaw.

Easy-to-Use Latching Handle

Lever and Hitch

This hitch's handle is designed for smooth motion and effortless operation. It requires only 2 fingers to use and won't bind up as you pull. In addition, the handle is long, so it's easy to access from outside of your truck bed. And the ergonomic grip makes it comfortable to hold and pull from different angles.

Tried to install this on a 2001 Chevy Silverado 3500, dual rear wheel, long bed, 4x4, diesel engine truck. The clamp style mounting simply does not work. The ONLY way I can see this working is by drilling added holes in the frame of the truck at the front end of the side plates. This is because of a bend in the frame at the clamp location. Also at this location the frame is boxed in and any bolt holes will be hidden. Bolts would have to fished in with bolt wires.

Overall- I am satisfied with the brackets and rails. I use them to attach a 15k Reese sliding hitch to which I attach a short 5th wheel (K-Z 231RK Sportsmen) behind that I tow my boat. The rails and custom brackets have done very well while towing.
My only complaint is accessing 4 of the nuts that hold the rails in place. The nuts are difficult to access from under the bed. They are located between the frame rail and bed, not much room to work and traditional sockets won't fit. I ended up using wrenches that attach to a ratchet, in this case my torque wrench.

This kit was definitely worth the money and I’d buy it again. I installed it myself in my 2018 F150 to tow my gooseneck. (I have a custom gooseneck hitch made for the rails) The heaviest I weighed across a scale was 26,000lbs and this kit never gave me an issue. I highly recommend, you won’t be disappointed.

I spent a whole day installing the Reese 16k hitch and custom quick mounting rails in a 2020 F150. Video was great and I advise you to watch it a couple of times before installing. Paper instructions not so good. If you have a 36 gallon fuel tank, I recommend you to do this install on a lift. I do not recommend you to install on your garage floor especially if you are 67 years old, still sore from laying on my back. You must remove spare tire and heat shield. I installed with tires on and very tight working around large fuel tank area. Going on a test drive to see if everything holds together.

2016 Jayco Eagle HT Fifth Wheel

I recently purchased a Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches
Item # RP50087-58. Prior to this purchase I bought a similar item for a different vehicle from e-trailer. I have purchased other items and have requested information by phone and email as well. Every experience I have had with e-trailer has been excellent. I have found ease of ordering, availability, delivery time, price, service, and the quality of the products to be very good. E-trailer is one of the best companies I have ever experienced.

Perfect ... absolutely no issues.

by: Laurie B.05/07/2020

This product worked out perfectly. My son, using instructions from etrailer, installed the rails in our new-to-us Ford F-150 in Massachusetts before we drove about 3,000 miles to Edmonton, AB to pick up a new-to-us fifth wheel trailer and Anderson hitch. I was a little apprehensive that it wouldn’t fit. No need. It dropped in exactly as it should. We hitched up the fifth wheel and drove back without incident. We have had only good experiences buying from etrailer.

Item has worked out excellently for us. This item is A-1 and I would recommend it.

by: Jeffrey09/28/2021

Great product, shipped in really good time, etrailer was excellent in communication, only small problem was package was damaged in transit, and my item had some pretty bad scratches on it. But when I notified etrailer of this they gave me a choice of shipping it back in exchange for a new one or giving me a nice credit back if I could live with the scratches. I choose the latter and I thought it was great that they gave me the choice.

by: Cindy12/27/2021

I had to return this hitch as it was unusable due to manufacturing defects. etrailer honored the return and refunded me completely.

by: Pattie01/27/2022

I love it. It’s very easy for me to setup. The only issue i had was rge breakout away cable snapped in have and i was not able to find a replacement. I had a friend who was able to make me another one.

by: Kyle 12/08/2021

Always polite and know exactly what you need for your application. Tim was a pleasure to work with.

The installation went very well on my 2017 ford F150. I have a 36 gallon tank so the left side was a little tough but I was able to get it very happy with your product thanks again ...

by: Garry 07/10/2021

The Rails I installed my self and they where easy to do. They are of good quality and I am very happy with them. They are still looking good with no rust on them after 1 year (I live in Michigan and the winters are a little ruff some times here) I have used them about 15-20 times and have had no issue with putting the hitch in and out of the truck. The pins always line up good each time.

by: John01/25/2021

Great hitch. Easy to use and pulls my 40ft rig like a champion!

by: Robert V06/10/2023

The order before I received this one, I do not understand why you would ship two products that would not work together although I ordered them wrong, with out letting me know before it was shipped. I didn't know that my order was wrong until I went to install it in my truck. It cost me time and money.

by: Rhonda05/16/2023

There where parts missing.

by: Gregory 02/03/2023

Arrived as expected. Haven’t installed it yet, but watching the video makes the installation seem easy.

by: James08/29/2022

Easy install, visual confirmation pin is locked into 5th Wheel, and no more chucking when pulling trailer.

by: Richard S.01/10/2018

Just received my Reese rail system. My wife and I plan on doing some travel so I needed a hitch for our new 5th wheel trailer. It came exactly when Crystal K said it would. Packages were in great shape. I read lots of reviews about how most packages were damaged. Crystal K was extremely knowledgable and helpful with my selection. This is my first purchase from etrailer but it won't be the last!
I will share more on my experience that I have with the product once I install my hitch.
Thank you and thank Crystal K also please.
Richard

by: Steven01/02/2023

This went well also. Only thing that could have been better is the grease (lube) information. To this day, I still don't know what parts to lubricate or where or with what.

  • Do I Need a Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2019 Ford F-250 Short Bed?
  • Congrats on the new trailer! You will need a sliding 5th wheel hitch. A standard fixed hitch like the Curt A20 item # C16140 won't provide you with the necessary clearance you'll need. You'll end up running the nose on your Dutchman into the back of your F-250's cab. Since you already have a set of Reese 5th wheel rails installed, the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R20 Slider item # C16541 will be a great addition to your set up. The Curt A20 has a 20,000 lbs capacity and will give

The B&W item # BWRVK2505 rails are industry standard which means they are compatible with your Reese M5 item # RP30928 along with most 5th wheel hitches on the market. • The Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30928 has three height settings (14", 16", or 18") which can all be safely used to tow from. The key is to raise you hitch head to the correct height to keep your trailer as close to level as possible while towing, while still have at least 6" of clearance between the nose of the trailer and the top of your truck's bedrails. To find this number you'll need to level your trailer and measure from the ground to the king pin plate and from the ground

  • Troubleshooting Sway When Towing Fifth Wheel Trailer
  • First suggestion would be to stop towing the trailer till you figure out how to fix the sway issue as sway can sometimes flip vehicles/trailers. Sway with fifth wheel trailers is typically not very common when compared to bumper pull towing so when it is happening it's almost always due to suspension problems on the trailer. That would be the first thing I would check. Also make sure you aren't exceeding the towing capacity of your truck. If you are overloading the truck beyond what it

This kit does come with insulators since your truck bed is aluminum, but since you have a spray in bed liner and the rails themselves are powdercoated you would not need to worry about corrosion from dissimilar metals. If you have the rails already and only need the

  • What is the Difference Between Inboard and Outboard Base Rails for a 2018 Ford F-150
  • The main difference between the Reese Quick-Install Custom Inboard Installation Kit part # RP50087-58 and the Reese Quick-Install Custom Outboard Installation Kit part # RP56034-53 is in regards to installation. The inboard rail kit uses frame brackets that attach to the base rails inside of the frame rail. The outboard kit uses frame brackets that attach to the base rails outside of the frame rail. The process of attaching the base rails to the frame brackets will be much easier if you

  • How to Use the Valley 7054 5th Wheel Hitch on a 2018 Ford F-150
  • Yes, you can use the Valley 7054 5th Wheel Hitch on your 2018 Ford F-150. There won't be any issues with the aluminum bed. In order to do so you will need an install kit for which I recommend using the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit part # RP50087-58. This kit is a custom fit so no drilling is required. It will then provide you with the above bed base rails that you will need to install the Valley 7054 5th Wheel Hitch. Please note that because you have the 6-1/2' long bed

  • Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for Valley 7054 5th Wheel Hitch 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup
  • For your Valley 7054 5th Wheel Hitch you will simply need to install a set of ISR base rails. I recommend using a custom fit base rail kit on your 2006 Ram 2500 such as the B&W Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails for 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches, # BWRVK2600. The advantage of using a custom-fit bracket kit is that it mounts to existing holes in your vehicle's frame. This minimizes drilling and measuring which reduces installation time and most importantly it avoids known obstacles along

  • Placement of Reese RP50087-58 5th Wheel Mounting Rails in Bed of 2019 Ford F150
  • The rearward rail of the Reese # RP50087-58 Fifth Wheel Bracket/Bed Rail Kit will install in the truck bed of your 2019 Ford F150 so that its rear edge if 28-3/4 inches forward of the back edge of the truck bed (the bed, not the tailgate). This goes for all bed lengths, 5-1/2, 6-1/2 and 8 foot beds. This dimension is shown in the diagram I've edited for you. If you don't have a 7-way installed in the truck bed, you can install one using # 50-97-410-010. I've linked to installation

  • Towing a 5th Wheel Trailer with a 2015 Ford F-150 SuperCrew with 5-1/2 Foot Bed
  • Your Husky slider hitch will fit installation kit # RP50087-58 for your 2015 Ford F-150 with 5-1/2 foot bed. However, you will not be able to slide the hitch back without removing the tail gate on the truck. Otherwise the pin box on the trailer would interfere with the tail gate. The other issue is that even if you slid the hitch back you would not be able to make tight turns without hitting the truck and trailer together. Slider hitches do not offer enough travel to make tight turns

  • Which Reese Fifth Wheel Rail Kit Fits 2021 Ford F-150
  • The reason the Reese fifth wheel rail kit part # RP50087-58 is interfering with your sensor is because it doesn't fit the 2021 models of the truck. Reese made a new rail kit for your truck with the part # RP56034-53 which would be what you'd need.

  • Fifth Wheel Rail Kit that Fits 2016 Ford F-150 6-1/2 foot Bed
  • If the hitch you have is one of the ISR series hitches that have mounting tabs that are 22 inches apart front to back then the # RP50087-58 would work but this is an above the bed rails system. We don't carry Pullrite fifth wheel hitches and since some of their hitches use unique rail designs you may have to contact them directly if you don't have a hitch with mounting tabs that are 22 inches apart.

  • For your 2017 Ford F-150 short bed we have the Reese fifth wheel rail kit part # RP50087-58 which would be a great option. This is a custom fit rail kit so it will install in about half the time as a universal kit, will minimize drilling, and is a rail design that is totally compatible with a Husky fifth wheel hitch like what you have. I attached an install video for this rail kit in a similar 2017 F-150 as yours for you to check out as well.
