  • 1-Year warranty

Note: The Derale Insta-dapt radiator adapter fits most vehicles with 5/16" transmission lines, but not all. In some cases, additional fittings or alteration of the OEM lines or hoses may be required for installation.

With a fan-mounted heat exchanger unit, you can be sure that there will always be optimum airflow for your engine oil cooler no matter where your cooler is mounted or what sort of environment you are traveling through. Couple that with the highly efficient, plate-fin core - wherein finned chambers provide increased surface area, allowing superior heat transfer with minimum pressure drop - and you have a truly effective heat-exchange system.

This system is ideal for late-model, electronic overdrive transmissions in which ensuring proper cooling and pressure maintenance is of the utmost importance.

The fan is nice, the brass compression barbed fittings did not work. They leaked from both threads. I paid for fancy with a quickness 2 day shipping, took 5 days. I’m just glad I wasn’t too much in a hurry to cool my dads transmission for his road trip.

Everything was included to install the cooler and instruction sheet is useful. Hardest issue is where to mount. No leaks so far. Should help trans temps while towing.

  • Transmission Cooler Kit Recommendation for 2012 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, 5.3L Engine
For your situation, the best, most-effective transmission cooler I can recommend for you is the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit with Fan # D13950. You will also want to use the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM # D13035, so you do not need to flare lines for installation. When driving in the city, easy and abundant air flow to the factory or aftermarket transmission cooler is not as available as when driving on a flat, open highway. The # D13950 cooler with...

  • High Capacity Trailer Hitch for a 2013 Chevy Silverado 1500 that Sits Tight to Rear Bumper
The hitch opening of both Curt hitches you mentioned are going to sit right under the bumper of your 2013 Chevy Silverado. Check out the picture I attached that shows the # C15323 installed on a truck like yours. I attached an install video for you to check out as well. Be sure you don't exceed the towing capacity of your truck that is stated in the owners manual as well.

  • Bypassing Factory Transmission Cooler on a 2006 Ford F-250 with 5.4 Liter
If the chamber walls inside the radiator that separate the transmission cooling portion with the coolant portion have cracked, ruptured, or are otherwise leaking then you would have to either replace the radiator or plug up the transmission fluid inlet and outlet ports on the radiator and instead use a supplemental cooler as the main cooler. In this situation I recommend a remote cooler such as # D13950 that will have its own fan. That way you are ensured to get the optimum amount of cooling...

  • Derale Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan # D13950 Recommendation for a 2002 Chevy Silverado
The Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan # D13950 that you referenced should work well for you. It will provide you with excellent airflow in traffic and would not impede airflow at highway speeds. This fan and cooler combination was designed to do exactly what you are trying to do so it would work very well for you. However, I would recommend you keep your factory cooler and run this cooler as a supplemental cooler. You would want to route the transmission fluid first...

  • Can a Remote Transmission Cooler be Used in Place of a Factory Cooler on a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder
Basically, an aftermarket transmission cooler is used as a supplemental system and not a primary unit. But, when a leak like what you are describing does happen, the options are to bypass the factory cooler and plug the radiator so it does not continue to leak, or replace the radiator. You could use the Derale Remote Cooler, # D13950, that you have selected. You would need to plug the transmission line inlet and outlet, so the OEM trans cooler could fill with fluid without leaking out....

  • Transmission Cooler Suggestion for Towing in the Mountains with 2012 Chevy Silverado
Unless you live in Alaska or northern portions of Canada where it's below freezing for a good part of the year, we recommend getting the largest transmission cooler that will fit in the most efficient mounting spot which is directly behind the grille, in front of the radiator. The Derale # D13504 measures 11x12, and would offer plenty of cooling to protect your transmission from the extra heat generated when negotiating mountainous terrain like the western Carolinas. The cooler would install...

My research shows that you will need to add the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting, # D13035, to the Derale Transmission Cooler Kit, # D13504, that you selected, to complete the installation on your 5.3 liter V8 GM motor. This cooler would work fine to help cool the transmission for towing. It sounds as if you are building a street strip application, with a 3600 stall converter, so I would recommend going with a Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13950. This...

As far as functionality there isn't one place that is really better than another for the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13950 on a 2017 Nissan Armada. Basically anywhere there is space for it will be a good location. On modern vehicles space in the engine compartment can be at a premium though so you will want to check ahead of time prior to installing a cooler. This cooler is 12-3/4" wide x 9-3/8" tall x 4-5/16" deep overall. The width and height probably won't be...

The ideal operating temperature for transmission fluid should remain between 160 and 200 degrees. If your transmission fluid was reaching 195 degrees when towing your fifth wheel trailer, it would be a good idea to either upgrade your factory added cooler or add an additional transmission cooler because this temperature could increase if you are towing on in hot weather or through hills where the engine and transmission will be working harder than on flat ground. • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for Jeep Grand Cherokee that Does Low Speed Off-Roading
I would highly recommend a transmission cooler for your 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Since you will be doing low-speed off-roading I would recommend a kit that comes with a fan so that you can ensure the cooler gets air-flow like the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler # D13950. Keeping the transmission cool when you're moving in stop-and-go traffic is exactly what this particular cooler is designed for. The # D13035 you already have is the recommended fitting. The Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13503, will provide extra cooling to help keep your transmission at normal temperatures when towing. Whether or not any cooler will provide enough cooling depends on many factors specifically related to your vehicle and trailer setup. You will want to install a supplemental transmission cooler on the return line of your correct transmission cooler. This means the fluid first goes into the factory cooler and then goes into the supplemental cooler before going back to the transmission. For a cooler for your 2008 GMC Yukon the Derale part # D13504 would be a really great option that's larger in size and a very efficient style. For a kit you can use # D13403. For the best cooling you can get a cooler that comes with its own fan like # D13950. This will provide the optimum cooling no matter where the unit is mounted. The Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit part # D13950 will draw up to 4.8 amps. In regards to fluid capacity, this is not a figure that Derale provides. That said if the reason you are asking this is to determine how much fluid needs to be added to the system in order to account for the increased fluid capacity, I would say around 1/4-1/2 quart but this will vary mostly based on the length of line used so it is best to check and then add as needed.
