Bypassing Factory Transmission Cooler on a 2006 Ford F-250 with 5.4 Liter
Question:
What would be a good cooling system to install on a 2006 f250 5.4l gas truck The radiator has obviously failed and I would like to put something more robust in as opposed to the original one. And should I install a larger transmission cooling rad since this very well might be the second tranny thats cooked in this truck.

If the chamber walls inside the radiator that separate the transmission cooling portion with the coolant portion have cracked, ruptured, or are otherwise leaking then you would have to either replace the radiator or plug up the transmission fluid inlet and outlet ports on the radiator and instead use a supplemental cooler as the main cooler.
In this situation I recommend a remote cooler such as # D13950 that will have its own fan. That way you are ensured to get the optimum amount of cooling for the transmission fluid.
Otherwise, as long as you can fit a cooler in front of the radiator and AC condenser core you could use a super-efficient stacked plate cooler such as # D13403.
