Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2012 Chevy Silverado Towing 6,000 lb Boat
Question:
My dad has a 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 that he uses to tow his 6000lb boat, trailer included. He wants to keep the transmission temps down as they climb up to 230-240 range. Wondering what product you would recommend.

A transmission cooler is a really great idea for your Dad's truck as the temperature range you mentioned is too hot to allow a transmission to survive very long. I'd recommend the Derale part # D13504 as it's a plate fin cooler which is one of the most efficient styles and is larger at 11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep so it's going to do a really great job reducing the temperatures to a much safer range.
For an adapter to fit the truck's radiator to make the install of the cooler easy you'd want the part # D13035 which snaps right into it.
