Video Transcript for Spectro Wiring - Wiring Adapters - 9653P Review

Today we're going to review part number 9653, this is the Spectro 4-Way Trailer Connector Car and Trailer End Loop. This wire will extend your wiring about 12 inches, trying to give you an idea here. Put a ruler on it. You can see it gives you about an extra 12 inches in length. It does have on this end here, this is just like your vehicle end connector would be and this would be just like your trailer end connector, so what you could do is on your trailer you could take your trailer end, plug it into this vehicle end connector, and then that would extend your trailer end connector out about 12 inches. That should do it for the review on part number 9653P, this is the Spectro 4-Way Trailer Connector Car and Trailer End Loop.

E-trailer: they've got what I need at a reasonable price. This is what e-commerce should be!

by:

I received the product after just a few days. I had many technical questions that were answered by a competent service person. The product arrived in great shape and I had reviewed their installation video so installation went very quickly and easy. My 2011 Chevrolet Silverado is equipped with a 7 pole connection so I bought their adapter to convert to flat 4 pole connection. That an the CR-017 led worked very with first try. I also bought the trailer hitch lock at the same time. All products are very easy to use.

by:

The product is fine, well made easy to use and functional. Only complaint is that this extension cable is necessary to make a light kit work with one of the hitch mounted cargo carriers that it is advertised to work with. Other than that frustration, this extension did the trick, allowing me to now use my light kit.

One year later and the product is working fine. The length of the wiring harness continu s to be the only negative. I have had to order a second extension to allow the lighting kit to fit to a different vehicle... But overall, I am extremely satisfied with the his product, and with my experiences with e-trailer.

by:

I'll cut these loops in half and then solder and heat shrink them to the 4 wire cable. I'm making 2 harnesses, thus the reason I ordered 2 loups.

no problems

Just the little extension needed when the factory trailer wiring harness plug wants to pull out of the socket when making sharp turns. Better to have the extension on and the lights working, because nobody wants to get stopped by the law for lights not working when leaving the boat ramp after a great day on the water.

by:

Purchased the 12" extender for my trailer lights after I purchased a different vehicle and needed more length on the wires to accommodate the new plug. Ordered the extender and received it within a week. Worked exactly like advertised on the site. Everything plugged in and worked perfectly.

by:

I'am in the process of setting up my 2017 Equinox to tow behind our motorhome. I've placed 4-orders with etrailer. So far I've installed the base plate, the wiring from the rear tail lights to the front end.I also received my Tow bar and the quick release parts. my next project is to install the invisi brake system. I want to send Kudos to Cathy T for her help and her great customer service. I'am also thanking James A for his quick response to a question about the wiring harness. I'am extremely happy with the quality of everything I ordered at etrailer. Thanks

I have purchased several items from etrailer and recommend all of them and the folks at etrailer.
Items purchased by part #: 9653P; BK-70BB; 2118-605-04; 98174LED; PK12706; MCL11AKB; H20046.

Shipped well packaged. All items are accurately described and are fully functional. etrailer videos are a big help and their staff is knowledgeable!

by:

Just what was needed to extend the connection for my trailer hitch light. Was able to hide almost all the lead from sight. It allowed me to easily splice two wires together so the light comes on for brakes, flashers and both turn signals.

by:

Ordered Dodge trailer hitch cover. Was extremely pleased with the website and especially the video that I could watch before ordering. Video explained installation and any additional parts I might want to order. Very happy with product.

by:

This 12" extension was just what I needed to connect a light up brake light hitch cover for my Ram truck. I bought one for my son's Chevy Colorado also.

by:

Not much to be said other than it looks like a quality piece. I havent used it yet, ordered as a precaution for use with my hoppy trailer wiring kit incase the harness was to short.

by:

etrailer suggested I also buy this extension for my light kit and I'm pleased they did because the light kit I bought would not have reached the outlet on the car if I did not have this extension.

by:

Love it ! Perfect to use, when hooking up "trailer lights" on cargo carrier to your SUV !
Easy to use & hook up ! Highly recommended !

by:

This end loop allows me to keep the connections on the car and trailer short and out of the way when not in use. I can plug the ends together and fold it for storage when not in use. Works great!

by:

I joined 2 of these together to lengthen the wiring harness to connect the trailer to the car with a hitch extension that I used.

by:

etrailer had exactly what I needed, and my order arrived earlier than I expected! I would definitely recommend them to a friend.

by:

The 12" Car and Trailer End Loop made my wiring 12" longer to give more length off wire to work with.

by:

Needed an extension and this satisfied the requirement

The extension still works well and very satisfied. I think that etrailer stands behind their products and they give good support should you have any questions.

by:

Exactly like the original. Good quality. Shipped and received quickly. Easy installation.
Great service. Highly recommend etrailer.

I spent slightly more money on four items than I would have spent on just one part elsewhere.

by:

Received 7 pole to 4 pole adaptor along with the 12" Car and Trailer End Loop in a very timely manner and it was exactly what I needed.

by:

Perfect to splice into trailer hitch pl ug.

by:

Everything arrived on time and intack.Easy assembly .Tail light trailer in loop was a must and tail lights a must have.

by:

It works. The cable was too short for the hitch cover to reach, this makes it long enough now.

by:

Makes a great extension.

  • Availability of 4-Way Square Connector for Wiring a Ford 3600 Tractor
If you will be needing to connect and disconnect the plugs more often I would recommend just to remove the 4-Way square on each end and wire in the 12 Inch Car and Trailer End Loop, part # 9653P. You will just need to cut the # 9653P loop in half and wire each end to the wires that remain from removing of the 4-Way square connectors.

The Car and Trailer End Loop, # 9653P, is one l2 inch long piece, just as it appears in the picture. The Car and Trailer End Loop 4-Pole, # 18044, is also one 48 inch long piece. It comes with quick splices in case one of the 4-Way connectors needs to be clipped off to splice bare wires. You can see this harness in use at about the 2 minute, 58 second mark of the video linked below.

At this time we do not carry the vehicle side of the Brake Control Wiring Adapters for an installation application like you are suggesting. But, I do have a recommendation for you. You could use a 12 inch Car and Trailer End Loop, item # 9653P, and wire the brake controller wiring to this. You would want to attach the vehicle side connector, 3 protected poles and exposed ground pole, to the vehicle and the trailer side to the wiring from the brake controller. The off-set wiring harness that comes with the light kit # 20174 is about 3 feet long and runs straight to a light and other lead wire is about 6-feet and runs along the back edge of the Pro Series cargo carrier # 63153 before it curves up to the 2nd light. The Pro Series cargo carrier # 63153 has a tighter mesh floor which is not large enough for the plug to pass through. Therefore run the wire leads under the platform to the lights, then up the front of the carrier and around to the...

  • Isolating Power for a 5-Wire Motorcycle Trailer Harness and a 5-Wire Motorcycle Trailer
There is a way to isolate the power draw on a 5 wire to 5 wire setup, but it would require a few parts and some wiring work. • Is Wiring Extension Needed for Adding LED Light Kit to Thule T2 Classic 4-Bike Rack
The wire lead for the LED Light Kit # 98174LED you're looking at is 46" long from the driver's side. Your Thule T2 Classic Bike Rack for 4 Bikes TH9044-TH9046 measures 55" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the farthest edge of the rack so you should be able to add the 12" Extension # 9653P and be good but this all depends on where you place the lights and where exactly your 4-Way connector is on your 2018 Honda CR-V. For taillight kits for the 24x60 Reese Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches # 63153, I recommend the Light Kit for Draw-Tite, Tow Ready, and Rola Railed Cargo Carriers # 20174.
