Randy: Hey guys, it's Randy here at etrailer.com. Now when hauling cargo with a cargo basket, a very common problem that our customers run into is that their license plate becomes blocked. And in most situations, you're going to be fine cruising down the highway. Nobody's probably going to bug you, but if they want to be a little picky, they could pull you over for that. If your license plate isn't clear and visible on the back of your vehicle, well, you're breaking a law. So what we've been able to do is create a set of brackets here.
That'll help to relocate that license plate. It's just going to require a couple of 10 millimeter wrenches, get it on your cargo carrier, nice and secure. This is our etrailer cargo carrier, but this is also going to work with any other cargo carrier that has the three quarter inch by three quarter inch square bars. Uses the license plate and the brackets simply holds it in place. And it really solves that problem.
So regardless of where we go or how the officer happens to be feeling that day, we're not going to run into any issues.Now to begin our installation process, we'll need our plate removed from our vehicle. I'm just going to take our clip, bring it around the carrier it sets around, we'll bring our plate up in front. We'll place our bolt through. Just kind of hold that in place and then we'll thread on our nylon lock nut on the backside. I'm going to get both of these started first and then we'll get them snugged down.
Once we have those bolts started, we want to take most of the slack out of it. Going to need a couple of 10 millimeters. We'll just get it positioned where we want it, and then snug them up.We don't have to tighten these up crazy tight or anything. We just need them to snug, those nylon lock nuts. We won't have to worry about them backing off.
As you can see, it just takes you a couple seconds here, get our plate installed and be sure we're meeting all the requirements of the law. We won't have to answer to anybody. Overall guys for the minimum work that it's going to take to get this relocated with just a couple of wrenches and tools, I think it's a very good idea. Finally, we have a solution where we can get our plate back there, get it visible and make sure we don't have any interruptions during our trip..

I have a cargo rack to which I have attached a large cargo box. This combination can obscure the vehicle’s license plate. I used these brackets to attach a copy of my license plate to the cargo rack for optimal visibility.

These clips have worked great for taillights and rod holders. I have been on several trips lights make cargo carrier safer and fishing rods are much easier to carry and are out of the way. Bungee straps keep fishing rods from bouncing out. Thank You

Excellent service. My order was delivered on-time. The part worked like a charm. Attached precisely on the back of my carrier cargo and I was able to hang my license plate. It gave me piece of mind since I was driving from MD to TN and I had a large box that originally would be covering completely my license plate. With the plate mounting brackets, I was able to hang my license plate with no issues.

It works great for attaching the license plate to the rear cargo carrier. It is ingenious for its simplicity. I always worried about my plate being covered by the cargo. This item solved that problem.

Used these brackets to mount taillights on my hitch cargo carrier. Worked great. I had to go to hardware store and get nuts and lock washers; the nuts with the trailer lights were flanged and too wide. Next project is to figure how I can adapt single bicycle carrier to the rear of my cargo carrier. Thanks

Will work great once I get them on my cargo carrier. My issue is the nut was welded a little off centered on one bracket. Once I file it down I should be good to go since there’s still enough material there. Figured I’d do it on my own rather than waiting for a new one that might still come off centered.

The tag holder it is a great concept. The only unfortunate thing for myself is, it’s not gonna fit the hitch. I want it to work out. But I believe I can modify a little bit and still be just fine.

Wasn't worth the money for us. Ended up using zip ties to secure license plate to back of cargo carrier. It's been over a year now since we tried installing the brackets. They were supposed to be compatible with the cargo carrier we purchased but did not fit the cross bars, therefore making them useless.

Perfect to attach to our hitch on our Audi Q7. We drive to Telluride 3X a year and CA at least once.We have 2 dogs and this frees up so much space inside the car. Did not want a roof rack and we can pull it off once we get to our destination!! Very happy w/purchase !!

These brackets are intended to fit cargo carriers with 0.75 inch square tube rails. I researched and I do not have another set to offer that is catered to cargo carriers.
