Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Reese Tri-ball Trailer Hitch Ball Mount with the Tow Hook. It has a 10,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now this tri-ball mount will eliminate the need for having to carry any extra ball mounts for different trailers. This one ball mount will include a 1-7/8 inch diameter ball, 2 inch diameter ball or even a larger 2-5/16 diameter hitch ball It will also include this tow hook for pulling with a chain or a strap.

Basically, when you install this you just simply adjust the ball mount to the desired size hitch ball you're gonna use or hook for your application. Now, the balls and the tow hook are all chrome steel finish. The shank itself is a nice black powder coat finish to resist rust and corrosion. Now, if you notice that when you do install this into your hitch receiver, it will require a hitch pinning clip or a hitch lock to secure this to your hit receiver. Those items are not included.

We do sell those separately on our website. The hitch pin hole diameter size is 5/8 of an inch. Application again, this fits into a 2 inch by 2 inch hitch receiver. And I just wanted to show you, I happen to pull an example of a 2 inch by 2 inch hitch receiver right here. You can see.

So, when you go to insert this if you're gonna use the larger 2-5/16 ball, insert it this way, slide it back until your holes line up and then put your pinning clip through there or your hitch lock and then you're ready to go. And then if you're happening to tow a different trailer with a different size coupler, you can switch it around this way and use the 2 inch ball. Switch it that way, use the 1-7/8 inch ball or slip it this way and use the tow hook. Either way, you just flip it around to what you need. Now, the gross towing weight and tongue weight capacities on this will depend on the ball size or the hook that's being used.

So, we'll start gross towing weight capacity, if you use the smallest 1-7/8 inch ball is 2000 pounds, tongue weight would be 200 pounds. If you switch to the next size up which is the 2 inch diameter ball, the gross towing weight capacity would be 6,000 pounds, tongue weight of 600 pounds. You go to the largest ball which is the 2-5/16 diameter ball. That's gonna get you a gross towing weight of 10,000 pounds, tongue weight of a 1000 pounds. And if you end up using the clevis hook that's gonna have also a 10,000 pounds gross towing weight and a 1000 pound tongue weight capacity. A few measurements on this, the overall length one end to the other is 12 inches. And then I just wanna give you the dimensions from the hitch pinhole to the center of the ball. So when you do use either the hook or the larger ball you're gonna use this hitch pin hole. So if we get our ruler and if we go from the center of this hitch pin hole to the center the ball, it's gonna be right at 7-1/4 inches. And then if you end up using either the 1-7/8 inch or 2 inch ball, you end up using this hitch pin hole And the center to center on that center of hitch pin hole, it's gonna be right at 8-1/2 inches.
