Does 7-Pole Round to 6-Pole Round Adapter Require Wires to be Connected
Question:
7 pin round to 6 pin round adapter. how is the brake wire connected

Expert Reply:
A 7-pole round to 6-pole adapter, the Hopkins Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47445 will not actually require any wires - including the brake wire - to be connected to the adapter. You simply plug one end to your vehicle's 7-round connector and then plug in your trailer-end 6-round to the adapter.
If you were referring to connecting wire to the Pollak Heavy-Duty, 7-Pole, Round Pin, Trailer Wiring Connector - Trailer End # PK11700 you would undo the retainer screw at the base of the connector and the set screws near the top of the connector which will allow you to connect your wiring.
If you go to about the 2:15 mark of the linked video review for the Pollak connector you can see this explained and the exact screws that I am referring to.
