Product won't work correctly. I've tried it with 2 different trucks and 3 different trailers. Each Turn signal will active the hazard lights, and no tail lights. When pressing brake lights, all side marker lights will light up.

It sounds like something is not wired right in the plug. This item has a 90 day warranty so I will have Customer Service reach out to you. Attached is a help article that explains which color wire each function should handle:

Well made is all I can say about this adapter only because I used it once it worked out great but have not had a need to use it again. I keep it with my other towing plug adapters as I'm sure I will need to use it again someday!

Brake doesn't work locks them up

Etrailer Expert

Katrina D.

10/23/2023

It seems that they are locking up because your set up will require part # c59236 and part # etbc7. As per one of our installers, semi's have a separate stop turn circuit because their trailers have air brakes. You will not be able to use that adapter with your semi harness. Your semi harness does not have a wire to carry electric brakes. These wiring kits will give you a functional 7-way on the back of your semi. If you are needing some assistance in finding a brake controller for your application, please let me know.

The wiring plug in for my tractor to trailer works great! Etrailer did a great job helping me pick the correct wiring plug!

It is still working well after 1 year!

by:

I will order all my trailer needs from etrailer.com from now one. It was excellent being able to order what I needed and cheaper than the auto parts store.

by:

I thought I would need this more than I do but I haven't towed the trailer with the tractor where I needed lights or turn signals. Works well, actually better than the tractor, half the lights don't work. (Electrics by Lucas, prince of darkness)

by:

Adapter is just what I need to connect my gooseneck trailer (12V) to my military M931 tractor (24V) that has a step down converter box to accommodate the military 24V cable to the usual 12V tractor cable - this then allows the gooseneck connector to function. Appears to be well made and fits perfectly on both ends. It was shipped promptly. In fact, locating the NUMBER to search for the adapter was the hardest part - once I had that going to etrailer and putting in the number it popped right up, and the pictures helped assure me it was correct for my application. My other option of 24V magnetic lights on the trailer has been retired!

by:

Hey just what I needed in a pinch to hook my gooseneck to my semi to tow my regular truck and got it to me just when I needed it thank you

by:

Excellent product and A-1 shipping. Great response from company on shipping time

by:

I looked all over for this adapter at seven stores and everyone told me that they don't make this adapter, I have to change my trailer plug.
I looked it up on the net and you have it and I ordered it and had it in three days and it is just what I needed.
They do make it, but venders don't want to stock it. after I received it I found one at NAPA for ten dollars more then I paid for it here,
Thank you,
Gary

Wanted to be able to use the lights on a 30' flatdeck with my tractor for hauling round bales. This adapter works great. Photo attachment didn't work, but the 7 round-pin on my JD 7200R to the 7 flat pin on my trailer worked. Seems well made.

by:

Used this to hook up from a box truck rigged with a 7 round pin to 7 blade on a cargo trailer. Everything fit great and worked correctly. No issues with the electric brakes.

by:

I ordered the wrong wiring harness and was given a return slip for credit once I realized my mistake. I was sent the correct one immediately and it fits perfectly. Great service and very reasonable costs. Thank You!

by:

The trailer adapter is exactly what I needed. Thanks for all the help

by:

Worked great for my needs. I only needed the round 7-pin end so I cut off the 7-blade end and wired it for my need.

by:

Works well, converting from one type plug to the other in our fleet saves time from having to rewire all trucks/trailers

by:

Not a lot to say on this item, pretty simple, and it would be hard to mess up. Plus we wound up cutting our in two and just using the individual pieces on two different cords. :-)

  • 7-Way Round Commercial Vehicle End Connector To 7-Way Blade Trailer Connection
If you are looking for a temporary solution the Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47425 is the simplest solution. You can plug it into your International dump truck and have the 7-way blade connector available. If you are looking to add a more permanent 7-way blade onto your International the Tow Ready 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Pigtail Wiring Harness # 20024 includes 6 wire taps and a grounding eyelet to allow you to wire in a 2nd connector. The harness is 4' long to allow you to mount it where...

  • Converting From 7-Way Round to 7-Way Flat Connector
We do offer the Trailer Connector Adapter, # HM47425, which converts a 7-pole round connector to a 7-pole flat connector. This adapter works for tow vehicles with combined taillight wiring, meaning that the turn signals and brake lights run on the same pin. If by chance your tractor has separate taillight wiring, meaning that the turn signals and brake lights run on separate pins, you will need to add a converter, like the Curt # C56175. Just cut off the 4-way end and wire it into this...

The first thing that you need is the Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47425 which converts the 7-Way round connector on your 1999 International 9100 to a 7-Way blade style connector. This will plug into your 9100 and provide a pace to connect the gooseneck trailer wiring. The next step is to then use the Roadmaster Brite-Lite Wiring Converter # RM-732 on your trailer side wiring right behind the 7-Way. This converter takes separate brake and turn signals and combines them so that the brake...

The Pollak Trailer Connector Adapter # HM47425 that you referenced offers 7-1/2 inches between the 2 connectors, and is 14-1/2 inches long overall. This is the longest pre-wired 7-Pole round to 7-Way blade adapter that we offer. You can use individual connectors to wire together an adapter that will have as much room between the connectors as you need. Finally, check to make sure the actual connectors on both the truck and trailer are clean and free of corrosion. A bad ground or dirty connections are the two most common...
