Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a quick look at this 25,000 pound gooseneck to fifth wheel trailer coupler adapter. This is going to allow you to replace your gooseneck coupler on your trailer so that you can tow your trailer with your fifth wheel hitch. This is going to eliminate the need to switch back and forth between your fifth wheel hitch and your gooseneck ball. And those fifth wheel hitches are pretty heavy. So it's most convenient just to leave them where they're at.
And so by switching this out, you'll be able to pull your gooseneck trailer with that fifth wheel hitch, as well as all your other fifth wheel trailers. So just have that one source of connection. It's also, in my opinion, a lot easier to hook up to a goose, or sorry, a fifth wheel hitch than it is to try and line up on that one pinpoint for your gooseneck ball. So you have that added convenience there as well. This does have a nice sturdy steel construction which gives us a max weight capacity of 25,000 pounds.
You can see this is a unique square coupler, that's going to fit in the same as your gooseneck coupler with the inner and outer tubes. Your inner tube here is right at 4 inches in width. Your outer tube is 4 1/2 inches. And you can see, we do have this 7/8 inch diameter load bearing pin here. That's going to allow us to adjust the height, so we can slide that outer tube along that inner tube.
Our outer tube has a height of about 20 inches, and then we'll have about eight inches of adjustability within that height range there. So we've got holes that are spaced about 2 11/16 from center to center. So that we'll be able to adjust in increments of 2 11/16 of an inch up to 8 inches in adjustability there to match your setup. You can see, we do have the two set screws here on the front that are going to make sure that once we have it set where we want, we can torque those down. Everything's going to be very solid for us.
The plate here, that's going to allow us to slide up onto our 5th wheel hitch. This is 9 7/8 of an inch long by 9 7/8 of an inch wide. Your standard size king pin there that you'll slide into your fifth wheel. So really nice set up here to transform your gooseneck trailer to work with your fifth wheel hitch. This does meet the S A E J 2 7 3 8 standards and is going to be compliant to meet those standards. So you can trust it's going to do a good job for you. It will be safe and it will allow you to pull that gooseneck trailer with your fifth wheel hitch. So that's going to complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Very well built. Great quality. Some of the edges were a bit sharp from the manufacturing processes, a quick sand with a flapper disc took care of it. Towed approximately 15-20k with it from California to Alabama. No issues at all.

Very good quality. Welds and fit are excellent. I used this to adapt a 5thwheel. The factory pin box was the wrong style to fit my truck and hitch. This coupler adapter allowed me to use vertical adjustment to let my trailer clear the bed of my truck even when turning. As you can see I cut the coupler down to suit my needs and it seems to have worked very well.
My only complaint isn’t even really aimed at the part or etrailer but at usps. etrailer shipped the part the next day and I had it within 3days. The box it came in was shredded!!! Again not really the fault of etrailer or the part but y’all might think about using better shipping containers or using a better shipping company. Also wrapping these bigger heavier parts with sharp corners in shipping Cellophane might help keep the boxes in 1 piece.

I can't tell you how happy I am with etrailers. I ordered the wrong part for my flat bed. I was thinking it's going to be a Hassel to return the part and get another. I have been very pleased with the gooseneck to 5th wheel adapter. So much so, that I bought a second one (but it was square tube not round). Having a fifth wheel camper, a flat deck trailer and a dump trailer all on fifth wheel hitches is awesome. They pull better than gooseneck (smoother), they hook up faster and nobody asks to borrow them!

Fit and function is great. Item is as described. I’m completely disappointed in the finish quality. They didn’t even bother to remove any welding soot nor splatter and definitely no paint. Hitch is covered in surface rust. The welds were burned in hot but did not wrap the gussets left holes in ones corner and a
large weld droplet. No pride taken in the work. Packaging was poor with multiple holes torn in the oversized box with on piece of packaging paper that was supposed to protect this 40 pound hitch.

Makes for a more stable hitch with the Ram Puck System, don't hear of feel the gooseneck down pipe flexing, makes hooking up easier in that I don't have to get up into the bed to close and lock the gooseneck lock. Yeah, glad I went this way. Easy install.
