Platinum Plus Warranty with Roadside Assistance

This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with a Platinum Plus warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to the roadside assistance, this warranty also includes other benefits and services.

Corrosion-Resistant Finish

The steel wheel goes through a 3-step finishing process that makes it both attractive and corrosion resistant. The wheel is first submerged in a zinc phosphate bath to ensure good paint adhesion. It is then e-coated with an acrylic primer base and the outboard side is finished with baked-on DuPont powder paint. The light e-coat on the inboard side of the wheel reduces friction between the wheel and your hub and eliminates the flaking that can occur with a heavily applied paint finish.

Improved Torque Retention Technology

Beveled Stud Holes Front and Back

The automotive-rated center disc is raised and the stud holes are beveled and uncoated for better clamp force retention. This technology helps the wheel stay tight against your hub without the need for constant retightening.

Provider Radials with Automotive-Grade Tread

Provider Tread Vs Standard Tread

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Match Mounted and Balanced Trailer Tire Assembly

In an ideal world, tire-and-wheel assemblies would be perfectly round and even throughout. Unfortunately tires and wheels have imperfections that often cause vibrations, resulting in a rough ride and wear and tear on the assemblies, as well as on the rest of your trailer's running gear. Taskmaster helps to solve this problem by match mounting and balancing their assemblies so they're ready to roll when they reach your door.

To do this, Taskmaster uses a laser-guided machine to locate the heavy and light spots of each assembly. They then align the assembly so that lightest part of the tire is near the heaviest part of the wheel. The assembly is then rotated at high speeds to pinpoint the optimal place to apply weights to further balance the tire.

Don't delay your adventures by having to take your trailer to the shop for new tires. Start rolling as soon as possible with easy-to-install, fully balanced tire-and-wheel assemblies from Taskmaster.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Video Transcript for Review of Taskmaster Trailer Tires and Wheels - ST205/75R15 LR D Radial 15 Inch Mod Wheel - TA54GR

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at this Diamondback ST 205/75R15 Load Range D Radial Trailer Tire with 15 inch Vesper silver mod wheel with a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. This tire and wheel assembly is going to be great for your RVs, campers, and trailers. This special trailer tire or ST tire has sturdy sidewalls so that it can handle heavy loads. It is created specifically for trailers and not intended for use on other vehicles. Now this assembly features the tire match mounted and balanced to the wheel for ride comfort and durability.

The match mounting of tires and wheels is a process in which the tire installation position on the wheels is specifically selected to help minimize the final force of imbalance. The method of match mounting involves aligning the tire's lightest spot with the wheels heaviest spot to eliminate most of the radial force that can cause tire and suspension wear. Then a final balance is done by applying weights to specific spots on the wheel to eliminate any chance of uneven wear or vibration. Now this radial tire is constructed with double steel belts for a long life. As you probably know, radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway.

The nylon tread firming belt overlays help prevent tread separation and the tread wear indicator makes it very easy to see tread depth. Now, as I mentioned at the beginning of our time together and as we have stamped here on our tire, this is indeed an ST 205 75 R15. The section width of this tire is 8 inches and this is a load range D tire, meaning it has an eight ply rating and the maximum load is 2,150 pounds. It's 65 psi and this has a speed rating of N indicating a maximum speed of 87 miles per hour. This Vesper steel wheel with this modular design is sturdy and corrosion resistant as silver acrylic enamel finish is going to help resist chipping and other damage better than powder coat finishes.

This finish is actually applied after a zinc phosphate pre-treatment and it covers an E code primer layer so it has excellent corrosion resistance with a salt spray rating of more than 1000 hours. The stud holes on this steel wheel are beveled to ensure that the wheel stays tight against your trailer hub. That's also going to eliminate the need to constantly re torque the lug nuts. The dimensions of this rim, beginning with the diameter from bead seat to bead seat is 15 inches and the width of this rim is 5 inches. Now I mentioned that the bolt pattern on this wheel is 5 on 4-1/2 inches.

And in case you don't know, the first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes and the second number is the diameter in inches of the circle on which the bolt holes sit. So to determine the bolt circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes as we have here you're simply going to measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. Now the wheel capacity is 2,160 pounds. The wheel stud size is a 1/2 and inch by 20. The center cap is sold separately, but if you do decide to pick one up, you just wanna make sure that it fits the pilot diameter of 3.19 inches. Now this tire and wheel assembly meets the Department of Transportation specifications. The tire exceeds the federal motor vehicle safety standard specifications. And one final note, this does have a two year platinum plus warranty that includes emergency tire change service and other benefits. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

First-time customer of etrailer.com! Very helpful information on the site and my tires arrived mounted and balanced as described/expected plus they were fully inflated to 60 PSI which meant I could just put them on the trailer right away. Love the look of the gray/silver rims! I'm very happy with this purchase and will check this site first in the future.
