Platinum Plus Warranty with Roadside Assistance

This tire-and-wheel assembly comes with a Platinum Plus warranty that includes complimentary roadside assistance for 2 years. If your trailer has a flat tire, call the help line and a technician will come change out the flat tire with your existing inflated spare tire. The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In addition to the roadside assistance, this warranty also includes other benefits and services.

Corrosion-Resistant Finish

The steel wheel goes through a 3-step finishing process that makes it both attractive and corrosion resistant. The wheel is first submerged in a zinc phosphate bath to ensure good paint adhesion. It is then e-coated with an acrylic primer base and the outboard side is finished with baked-on DuPont powder paint. The light e-coat on the inboard side of the wheel reduces friction between the wheel and your hub and eliminates the flaking that can occur with a heavily applied paint finish.

Improved Torque Retention Technology

Beveled Stud Holes Front and Back

The automotive-rated center disc is raised and the stud holes are beveled and uncoated for better clamp force retention. This technology helps the wheel stay tight against your hub without the need for constant retightening.

Provider Radials with Automotive-Grade Tread

Provider Tread Vs Standard Tread

Unlike standard trailer tire tread, which has solid, continuous ribs, the automotive-grade tread on these Provider radials has ribs with breaks. These breaks allow water to run off to the sides. The Provider tread also has sipes. Siping is a process in which thin grooves (or sipes) are cut into the rubber of the tire. The grooves channel water away from the tread so that the tire makes better contact with the road. Both of these features greatly improve traction during wet, snowy, or icy conditions.

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Match Mounted and Balanced Trailer Tire Assembly

In an ideal world, tire-and-wheel assemblies would be perfectly round and even throughout. Unfortunately tires and wheels have imperfections that often cause vibrations, resulting in a rough ride and wear and tear on the assemblies, as well as on the rest of your trailer's running gear. Taskmaster helps to solve this problem by match mounting and balancing their assemblies so they're ready to roll when they reach your door.

To do this, Taskmaster uses a laser-guided machine to locate the heavy and light spots of each assembly. They then align the assembly so that lightest part of the tire is near the heaviest part of the wheel. The assembly is then rotated at high speeds to pinpoint the optimal place to apply weights to further balance the tire.

Don't delay your adventures by having to take your trailer to the shop for new tires. Start rolling as soon as possible with easy-to-install, fully balanced tire-and-wheel assemblies from Taskmaster.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Video Transcript for Review of Taskmaster Trailer Tires and Wheels - Tire with Wheel - TA22MR

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Taskmaster Diamondback ST20575R15 radial trailer tire in a load range D, and it's mounted on this 15 inch Vesper white spoke steel trailer wheel with the 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now this tire wheel assembly's ideal for stock trailers, utility trailers, and campers. And what's nice on this assembly, the tire is match mounted and balanced to the wheel for ride, comfort, and durability. Now match mounting of your tires and wheels is a process in which the tire's installation position on the wheel is specifically selected to minimize the final force of imbalance, meaning the amount of weight that's used. Basically the method to match mounting is to align the tire's lightest spot with the wheel's heaviest spot to eliminate most of the radial force that can cause tire and suspension wear.

Then the final balancing is done by applying weights to specific spots on the front, and even on the back of the wheel to eliminate any chance of uneven wear or vibration. So on this one, if you look, there's your weight right there on the front. If we spin it around to the back, you'll be able to see there's your weight right there on the back. So this is a balanced tire and wheel assembly. The wheel is a steel wheel, has a spoke design to it.

It is sturdy and corrosion resistant. It is a white acrylic enamel finish to resist chipping and other damage better than your powder coat finishes. And that finish on this wheel is applied after a zinc phosphate pre-treatment. And then it covers an e-coat primer layer. It does give you a nice excellent corrosion resistance.

Has a salt spray rating in more than 1000 hours. Now the slug holes, where your lug nuts will go, they are beveled stud holes to help keep your wheels securely in place on the trailer hub. Eliminates the need for constant retightening of your lug nuts. Now if you notice this wheel does not come with a center cap. If you do want a center cap, we do sell those separately on our website.

And when you get a center cap, you want it to be the same diameter as this pilot hole right here. The pilot hole diameter is 3.19 inches. So you wanna make sure to get a center cap with that same measurement so when you install your center cap, it goes through the pilot hole right here. The tire on this is a radial tire. It is constructed with double steel belts, double polyester cords for a nice long life. It's great for highway use, and they do use a nylon tread firming belt overlay to help prevent tread separation. The tire is stamped as an ST tire, which stands for Special Trailer tire. Has the sturdy side wall so they can handle heavy loads. It is created specifically for trailers. It's not intended for use on any other vehicles. This whole assembly does come with a two year platinum plus warranty, which includes emergency tire change service and other benefits. And the assembly meets the DOT, Department of Transportation specs and exceeds federal motor vehicle safety standards. A few specs to go through first. The diameter on the wheel, 15 inches. A width on just the wheel by itself is 5 inches. The bolt pattern on this wheel is a 5 on 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. And if you wanna measure that on a wheel that's an odd number of lugs, like in this case, five lugs, What you'll do is pick any hole, let's say this one, and you'll measure from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge of the two holes across from it. So you just pick a hole to start with and then either measure to this one or to this one, but it's from the center of the starting hole to the furthest edge. On this wheel it's gonna measure 4 1/2 inches, so 5 lug 4 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Wheel lug size, this uses a 1/2 inch by 20. Weight capacity on just the wheel is 2,160 pounds. Now the tire's size, which is stamped on the sidewall. ST we mentioned for special trailer. 20575R15. The R means it's a radial tire. Section width on this tire is 8 inches. Overall diameter from the bottom to the top when it's inflated is 27.2 inches. And this is a load range D, which means it's an 8-ply rated tire. Has a maximum load capacity of 2,150 pounds at 65 psi. And one of the last things I do wanna mention is all the new trailer tires coming through with speed ratings on 'em now, and they are stamped on the side wall and they use a letter designation. And where that's at is right after the size we just went over, you'll see there'll be two numbers for the load index and then the letter N. The speed rating N will mean this has an 87 mile per hour speed rating. But that's gonna do it for the review on your Taskmaster Diamondback ST20575R15 radial trailer tire in a load range D mounted on this 15 inch Vesper white spoke steel trailer wheel.
