  • Suspension Hanger Spacing for a Triple Axle Trailer with 26-5/8 Inch Long Slipper Springs
I can give you a general estimate but the only way to get it just right is to mock up all the parts to determine the proper locations prior to permanently installing everything. On a triple axle trailer with 2 inch wide slipper springs the distance from the first and second hangers would be approximately 29-1/2 inches. From the second to third hangers it would be approximately 34 inches. And from the third to fourth hangers it would be approximately 29-1/2 inches. For this set up the center...

  • Distance Between 235/80R16 Tires with the Triple-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit # APTT6SE
You would have about 2-3/4 inches between your tires if you went with the Triple-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit # APTT6SE. I determined the overall diameter of your tires using the FAQ article I attached to the right and then subtracted that from the distance between the axles recommended this kit to get that figure. Your overall tire diameter is 30.8 inches, and distance between the axles with this kit is 33-1/2 inches.

  • Recommended Triple or Quad Axle Suspension for Trailer Build
Since you are building a trailer I first want to state that using quad axles isn't ideal. It will cause tire scrub as there becomes too broad an axle base for the trailer to track as nicely. That is why most trailers will use tandem or triple axles as needed for load capacity. If you just want to add the 4th axle for overbuild reasons it will bite you as you will need to replace tires more often. Most of the professional semi flat bed trailers that have the quad axles are for transporting...

  • Replacement Triple Axle Hanger Kit for 2015 Kaufman Car Hauler with 7k Axles
What you have is a slipper spring setup on your 2015 Kaufman car trailer. So what you need for a triple axle hanger kit then is the part # APTT6SE which comes with everything needed. If you need new leaf springs too you'd want the 7k rated part # e74SR for each one.

  • How to Order Longer Equalizer Kit for Slipper Springs Than # APTT6SE
You'd have to piece together the kit you want as we don't have everything you need as a kit. For a 12 inch equalizer you'd want the part # TREQ4541, for a 5 inch front hanger part # 28-9-1, for a 4-1/2 inch center hanger part # 29-5-1, and then for a 6-3/8 inch rear hanger you'd want part # 30-6-1 and you'd be set.

  • After Replacing Equalizers and Hangers on Triple Axle Trailer, Tires Are Rubbing
The taller hangers are likely causing additional suspension travel which is causing the tires to rub. It is something that will need to be corrected. First, the new equalizers you installed are shorter than the originals. If you do not compensate for the shorter distance with either longer springs or shackle straps, that is likely the root cause of the problem. Also if you did not increase the hanger height equally for all hangers, then that will throw things off as well. You could keep...

  • Converting from Double-Eye Leaf Springs to Slipper Springs on my Triple Axle Trailer
When looking to convert your triple axle double eye spring trailer to slipper springs, I recommend going with the 5-Leaf Slipper Spring, # e74SR, for your 7,000 LB axles. This spring has a 3,500 LB capacity, an axle capacity of 7,000 LBS, and the height of this spring is the same as your current 6-Leaf Double-Eye Spring, # e64SR. When it comes to whether there will be a change in the ride height when switching from double eye springs to the slipper springs, this is going to depend on the...

  • How to Determine Correct Replacement Slipper Springs for Triple Axle Trailer With 8,000 lb Axles
I can help you determine exactly what you need to replace the suspension in your triple axle trailer, although we don't have any type of database which has each part for each year, make and model of trailer that would tell us exactly what you have on your trailer, which means you'll need to do a bit of pretty simple measuring. Since you have a triple axle trailer, with three 8,000 lb axles you will need slipper springs for that axle capacity, for which we have two of that capacity. To...
