How to Determine the Support Capacity You Need in Your Landing Gear
If you will be using this landing gear to lift and lower your trailer onto a hitch ball or kingpin, then you should choose the jack you need based on its lift capacity. But, if you are just using it to stabilize or support a parked trailer, then you should focus on the jack's support capacity.
Heavy-duty jacks like this one stabilize about 25% of your trailer's total weight when it's loaded up. For example, a 50,000-lb trailer has a pin weight of about 12,500 lbs. For these legs to work, you'd need a set of landing gear with a combined lift capacity of no less than 12,500 lbs. If you only have one jack that can get the job done, that's great! In fact, this should work more efficiently, allowing you to spend less time cranking.
Note: Do not use landing gear to lift your trailer during tire changes or service work, because doing so will exceed the capacity of the landing gear.

Very well built. Paint isn't the kind that will last very long but I expected that. The rate the leg drops compared to the number of cranks is a bit slow but that makes it a lot easier to lift my heavy trailer. Make sure you grease it before using. Didn't have much grease in it.

i purchased and installed this jack about a year ago on a home-made trailer and it has been great. i used it as a center support jack and bought a piece of pipe to extend the handle to the outside of the trailer and i have had 0 issues. it was easy to install and has been working flawlessly. This jack is a replacement for a factory installed jack of a much lower rating that has failed. I can buy a lot more jack from etrailer for the same or less than the local dealers wanted for a direct replacement. I placed my order and was happy to see it was shipped and arrived to me in 2 days. It was packaged well, almost to well. Do you buy those staples to close boxes by the ton? I feel a lot better unhooking the trailer with a load now.

Very solid. I am using two of these for a water trailer that is 10,000 lbs full. They have never been anything but smooth and the spring loaded foot saves LOTS of cranking time.

Was having trouble locating parts for a ram 12000 Jack these guys show parts on their sight but when I called parts weren't in stock but they had a replacement unit that I could use for parts .shipped out that day , quick service.will use again.

It's simply not feasible to find replacement parts for a jack this old. The Square 10K Direct Weld Jack for example is offered with two different plunger pin locations, part # TJD-12000SP-R2 for side or part # TJD-12000SP-F2 for front. In other words, you'd need to remove the existing jack and weld a new one into place with the correct plunger pin orientation.

I hope that you will get a lot of use out of the jack. As for the paint we recommend keeping a can of Rustoleum on hand to touch up the jack from time to time.
