E-Z Lube-Compatible Hub for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Customer support is good, only complaint I have is the packaging. This may be more of the shipper who messed everything up but the box was definitely tossed around and all the bags inside the box got opened and all the lug nuts, bearings, caps etc got tossed around the box so I had to figure out what went where.

  • Replacement 3,500 Pound Hubs and Trailer Axle with 94" Hub Length
I'm sorry to hear about your recent mishap! I'm not sure which of the two axles and hubs on your trailer are in need of replacement but we have exactly what you need for either! To start, for the axle itself the Dexter Trailer Axle Beam # 7359765 will work perfectly. This axle features a 95" hub face length and a 80" spring center length, matching the existing axles on your trailer really well. The extra inch on the hub length won't cause any issues. Then for replacement idler hubs...

  • Replacement 5 on 4 3/4 Hub With LM67048 Inner Bearing and LM11949 Outer Bearing
With your hub having an inner bearing # LM67048 and outer bearing # LM11949, it sounds like you have an agricultural style hub, like the Redline Trailer Hub Assembly # AH15450ECOMP. However, this will have a 4 on 5 bolt pattern and this will be the only bolt pattern this hub is offered in, unfortunately. With that being said, the best option we can recommend will be to replace your axle with something that uses more common parts. Though you will need to measure a few things, picture included,...

  • Idler Hub Recommendation for a Trailer that has # 84 Spindles
Based on the inner diameters of the bearing you gave it looks like you have a number 84 spindle. For an idler hub that would fit your hub that has a 5 on 4-1/2 inch wheel bolt pattern you would want the Dexter Hub part # 84545UC1-EZ. If you have a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern you would want the Trailer Hub Assembly part # 84655UC1-EZ. If you are unsure of what bolt pattern you have check out the FAQ article I attached determining bolt patterns.

  • Replacement Hub for a Boat Trailer
In order to recommend the correct hub for your needs we will need to know a few things. The first thing we will need to know are the part numbers of your bearings and seals. I have attached a photo showing where you can locate the part numbers on your bearings and seals. If you cannot locate the part numbers of your bearings and seals, then you can measure the inner and outer diameters of the bearings and seals and take some measurements on your spindle using a precise measuring tool...

  • Replacing Dexter Hubs To Transition to a GMC Truck Wheel Bolt Pattern
To determine the correct hub to replace the existing hub on your horse trailer I will need the inner and outer bearing numbers and the seal part numbers to select the proper parts for your spindle. The 8-256 number that you see on your hub is a casting number and even if I could match it to a Dexter hub assembly it would most likely not match up with the correct bearings. Remove a hub and you should find the part numbers on the back side of the bearings and the seal. You will need to...

  • What Size Wheel Center Hole Diameter Fits the Trailer Hub Assembly, # 845475UC1-EZ
The outside diameter of the Trailer Hub Assembly, # 845475UC1-EZ, where the wheel center hole would go is 2.6 inches. So the wheels would have to have a center hole (pilot hole) diameter of 2.6 or more inches.

  • Replacement Hub for Master Pro PT A-4 and National Bearing A-17 Bearings on a Utility Trailer
Based on the information I could find on those 2 bearings it appears that they are the same as L44649/L68149 bearings. Hubs that take these bearings include: # 84545BX for a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern # 84545UC1-EZ for an EZ lube axle and 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern # 84550BX for a 5 on 5 bolt pattern # 845475UC1 for a 5 on 4-3/4 bolt pattern # 845475UC1-EZ for an EZ lube axle and 5 on 4-3/4 bolt pattern # 84555UC1 for a 5 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern The star design is just a newer style of idler...

  • Available Replacement Trailer Axle Kits
To use new hubs on your existing trailer spindles the new hubs need to use the same bearings. Either bearing part numbers or dimensions such as what you provided (thank you) will allow you to confirm a proper fit. I checked all bearings we offer for ones that have the same (or very close to the) spindle diameters you provided. Bearing # LM48548 has an inner diameter of 1.375-inches so it will fit at the spindle where it measures 1.370-inches. For the outer bearing spindle dimension of...
