Hitch to Carry Bike Rack on 2011 Chevrolet Traverse

Question:

A neighbor has offered to give me their bike rack which hold up to 4 bikes, but I have no idea what I need to buy to use it. It is a trailer hitch bike rack. I have a 2011 Chevy Traverse.

That was a nice gesture from your neighbor and you can use that rack simply by installing a hitch on your 2011 Chevy Traverse. The Draw-Tite # 75528 is a Class III 2 inch hitch that is a bolt-on installation so no drilling will be required. Many people decide to install these hitches themselves although any qualified mechanic will be able to do so as well. Also, a quick note about the bike rack; you will want to double-check with your neighbor that the rack will fit in a 2 inch hitch. Virtually all 4-bike racks do, though some racks have a 1-1/4 inch shank - which goes into the hitch receiver - and need an adapter sleeve to fit a 2 inch hitch, so be sure to just ask your neighbor to make sure the rack is going to fit a 2 inch hitch.
