Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite Tested Tough

Draw-Tite's Tested Tough program provides testing standards far superior to those outlined by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), the go-to source for engineering professionals.

Each Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver undergoes extensive fatigue testing and static testing with the ball mount that is either supplied or recommended for use with that particular hitch, thus ensuring results that are applicable to real life use. Fatigue testing is also conducted on hitches rated for use with weight-distribution systems.

In addition, Draw-Tite performs static testing on a simulated automobile, as opposed to the rigid fixture used for SAE testing, resulting in a more true-to-life scenario.

Hannah was awesome and very knowledgeable. AND my hitch receiver arrived a day ahead of schedule. My mechanic installed it ‘without a hitch’ bah duh bah

Very easy installation, everything I needed was in the kit. I watched the installation video before I got started and I have to say I was a bit sceptical about the fish wire. I was pleasantly surpirised, it worked perfectly. I took my I-pad out to the car and did the installation step by step with the video. The video was very descriptive and the installation went smoothly. The hardest part was removing the muffler isolators. I used the wiring harness video for installation of the wiring and again used the I-pad to go step by step with the video. Great product, it looks very well built. I don't expect to have any problems with it.

We have made several trips pulling a trailer and the hitch is performing well, no problems at all. Some clips for stowing the light pigtail would be nice, keep it from being inadvertently left to drag on the road.

The videos on the etrailer.com web site were instrumental, though I had to watch them several times as the video progressed from step to step quickly. I worked on my back with the rear of the car elevated on metal ramps. While I supported the exhaust pipes, they did not fall as warned on the video. In fact, the free hanging mufflers did not drop enough to slide the hitch into place on the frame. I had to hand pull one muffler down so the hitch would slide over it. I had my wife assist with positioning the hitch into position, but everything else I did myself. When moving the hitch into position on the frame, I put a nut on one of the half-inch bolts so that it did not get knocked into the frame while I focused on the other side. In the end it came out perfect. I'm very happy with the result and with the satisfaction of doing the installation myself.

I'm not that mechanically inclined when it comes to vehicles and when I called around to get quotes for a hitch the cheapest was $425 for parts and labor. Then I came across etrailer.com. They made me feel confident I could do this myself for a fraction of the cost. Cheaper price for the parts too. The video online was spot on and took me step by step to putting my hitch on and it was SO AMAZINGLY EASY!!! The video doesn't miss a thing. My new hitch looks and works great and is very well crafted. etrailer.com is a top notch company. Already recommended it to my whole family!

A year out, still 5 stars. Absolutely no problems, use it about weekly. Still looks great with no peeling or rust.

by:

Took 2 people to install it, but it lined up with all the holes in the vehicle. Fits well.

by:

The hitch was easy to install and fit p erfectly.

Top quality hitchs at the lowest price anywhere
Easy installation, if fit perfectly

Absolutely the fastest shipping ever and the part fit great. If possible, I would recommend better shipping part protection, this hitch did get banged around resulting in chipped paint.

I will send this review to our shipping department. I recommend touching up the affected areas with a rust resistant paint.

2005 Ford Edge

Very pleased with the quality of the hitch and the ease of installing it. I do recommend watching the online video on the correct hitch first. There was a burr on the inside edge of the receiver that I needed to file off before the luggage rack would slide in, other than that, I am very pleased with my purchase.

This is definitely a DIY project!! Ordered the hitch and wiring packet from eTrailer. Received it in 3 days (Indiana)! Video and instructions were easy and accurate for our Chrysler Pacifica. I found it necessary to thoroughly clean the mounting hole prior to inserting the fish wire and bolts. Excellent product. ! Great company! Will definitely use again!

Very nicely designed hitch, and it fit perfectly on my 2007 Chrysler Pacifica. Your installation video was well done and helped me very much to install the hitch. I am 85 1/2 years old and I put the hitch on in the Patio of our Winter home in Alamo, Texas. I may use it to pull my other car home. Thank you very much. Floyd

Thanks, this was exactly the part I needed to hook up my bike rack. There was no guessing with simplifying a search by make and model. Shipping was fast and received in great condition with all hardware and instructions. Installation video on the website was extremely helpful and very thankful for, so basically anyone with the ability to work on their own vehicle can do this. Fit was exact to my 07 Pacifica, no complications. Price was competitive as well. Highly recommend to anyone and new customers and will certainly buy from again.

A1 all the way around

by:

the draw-tite max-frame trailer hitch receiver went on very easy everything went just like your video showed , great for doing it myself , i had more trouble getting my spare tire off than putting the receiver on . should have no trouble pulling my trailer . thank you for a great product.

Rating would have been Excellent if it weren't for a problem with the mounting hardware.

The four of the six 3" long carriage bolt brackets did not have the proper size square hole in them and needed modification before the carriage bolt would fit.

Secondly, the fishwire works wonderfully. I suggest a 2nd wire be included as those who don't use it as often as those in your videos are a bit more rough on it.

by:
2005 Chrysler Pacifica

Easy to understand instructions. Biggest issue was removing and reinstalling the rubber gasket for the exhaust. Definitely need a non petroleum lubricant available to assist with the removal of the exhaust. The fish wire for the bolt and spacers was great to have. Definitely recommend to add 2 fish wires to the install package . I ruined the first one half way through the install. Was able to reuse it but It caused me to drop or lose the bolt a couple of times. Highly recommend to have a flexible magnet available to help locate the bolt or block spacer if dropped. Excellent product and seamless install.

etrailer.com is a very valuable service and if it isn't already, I'm sure it will become a wildly successful company. They have everything you could possibly need in the way of towing etc., their prices are literally hundreds below my local hitch store, shipping is fast and cheap, great installation videos, the people are friendly on the phone and make sure your needs are taken care of. Textbook operation. And, no they didn't pay me to say any of this. -God Bless.

2006 Chrysler Pacifica

Great product, great service. I received the part very quickly. Install was a bit awkward for 1 person but manageable. Only negative was the instructions. Would have made more sense to rearrange the order of assembly. Use spring wire to feed only the vertical down-pointing bolt 1st. Install that bolt and M12, essentially putting system in place. THEN use spring wire for horizontal bolts. Trying to get hitch in place with horz. bolts dangling was way too difficult. Other than that, install was pretty simple and hitch works great.

by:
2006 Chrysler Pacifica

Everything was great would have given 5 stars but had a lot of trouble with the last bolt do too The backing of one of the frame bolts That was sent with the package Hitch Needing to be filed down And the square hole opened uped up so bolt would fit through As it wasn't cleanly stamped when made and had a lot of extra metal on it Granted it was only one in the whole package you sent But added to installation time and cost as I didn't have a file and had to go purchase one But other than that I am very happy with the product

by:
2007 Chrysler Pacifica

This is the second trailer hitch I have purchased. Great product, reasonably priced and easy to install with the proper equipment. Now we have 2 vehicles good to go with our items! Love it!

by:
2006 Chrysler Pacifica

This item installed exactly are instructed. However what made this product rate as excellent is the installation video. As I was under my vehicle with my ipad doing the install I was greatfull for the video. Also the little spring wire tool is a god send. I am telling all my truck buddies about ETrailer.com. I would send a photo but it looks exactly like the photos already on the site. A PERFECT FIT.

  • Options for Carrying Luggage and Other Cargo with a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica on a Long Drive
I checked on using a cargo basket on the roof rack on your 2006 Chrysler Pacifica and found that the cross bars are only designed for Ski and Snowboard carriers. But since you have a roof mounted cargo bag, that could be used on the roof, just be sure not to exceed the capacity of the roof of your vehicle, to secure the bag at as many points as practical and to clean the vehicle roof and bottom of the bag before installation. I would recommend a trailer hitch and hitch mounted cargo carrier...

  • Which Hitch Fits a 2008 Chrysler Pacifica
The Pacifica does not share the same hitch fits as a 2008 Dodge Caravan. You would need to go with a new hitch for your 2008 Pacifica. For that the Draw Tite part # 75522 is a confirmed fit and would work well. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well.

  • Recommendations for Carrying Bikes with a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica
I checked with our suppliers and the roof rack side rails and cross bars on the 2007 Chrysler Pacifica are not strong enough for any accessories other than snow board and snow ski mounts. They do not recommend using any other roof mounted accessories like a bike rack on your vehicle. this means that you will need to select some other means for carrying bikes with your Pacifica. My first recommendation for you would be to use a hitch mounted bike rack and trailer hitch to carry bikes on...

  • Concealed Trailer Hitch Receiver for a Bike Rack on a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica
The most concealed hitch that fits your 2005 Chrysler Pacifca we have the Curt Class II, part # C12262. However, it isn't the best hitch for a bike rack, in my opinion, because it requries a stabilization strap, part # 18050, in order to be compliant with the hitch's warranty. Instead I recommend the Draw-Tite Class III, part # 75522. The strap isn't required and it's also a Class III hitch so it has a higher capacity and is compatible with more accessories. As you can see in the installation...

I recommend the, Rhino-Rack Nautic Stack Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs part # RRS520 because it is currently the most cost effective option.
