Working as Described....no rust..I live in Southerb California

It looked nice fit nice but on our first trip I couldn’t get it off after unlocking it. The locking pin bent. I though get I would have to cut it off but used a hammer to finish the job. Was hauling a 9,000lb TT. I used a Ford class V pin for the way home. Doesn’t lock but worked like a charm.

by:

I ordered my weigh safe drop hitch about 4 days ago. It arrived today. Its a perfect fit and I expect to get many good years of service from it - thanks for your prompt service

by:

I opted to use the straight lock just because it is cleaner looking. It is as good as the straight pin, I just liked the looks of the of tjhe straight vs bent.

See what our Experts say about this Tow Ready Trailer Hitch Lock

  • Locking Trailer Hitch Pin to Tow an 8,000 Pound Trailer with a Class V Hitch on a 2015 Ford F-150
The Tow Ready Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # TR63253 is a locking hitch pin that can be used for towing. It will fit the Class V hitch on your 2015 Ford F-150. Hitch pins generally do not have a weight rating but are tested for the size hitch they fit. So a hitch lock that will fit a 2-1/2 inch receiver will be tested to withstand the same weight as a Class V hitch.

  • Longer Thule Threaded Hitch Pin for 2 1/2 inch Trailer Hitch Receiver
I have a solution but I reached out to Thule to check and found out that Thule does not make a threaded hitch pin that will work with your 2 1/2inch receiver. They also mentioned that use of an adapter or extender would void the warranty on your Thule Doubletrack. Using the Brophy Hitch Reducer and Extender - 2-1/2" to 2" Trailer Hitch - 7" Long # HR26 would allow you to use a standard hitch pin and clip like Tow Ready Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2-1/2" Hitches # TR63253 to secure...

  • Need Stainless Steel Hitch Pin for 2-1/2-inch Class V Trailer Hitch Receiver on 2011 Silverado
We do offer a stainless-steel hitch lock suitable for the 2-1/2-inch Class V factory-installed hitch on your 2011 Silverado. TowReady lock # TR63253 features a stainless-steel pin and a chrome-plated lock assembly. The linked video will help to illustrate its features and operation. This lock has a 3-1/2-inch-wide center span and includes 2 keys. The lock you referenced, etrailer.com part # e98881, has a center span of 3-5/8-inches and will fit a Class V 2-1/2-inch hitch receiver, but...

  • How to Determine if the Master Lock Hitch Lock part # 1480DAT will fit a Hitch or Not
Some vehicles (usually Toyota), have hitch tubes that are wider than most standard hitches. In those cases the part # 1480DAT would not be long enough to fit. What you will need to do is measure the outside width of your hitch to find out if this will fit. If the width of your hitch ends up less than 2-3/4 inches this will fit and work well. If you need a wider hitch the Tow Ready part # TR63253 has a usable span of 3-1/2 inches.

  • Availability of the Master Lock Pivot Lock Hitch Pin for a 2-1/2 inch Hitch Receiver
Although we do have hitch pins that are compatible with 2-1/2 inch hitch receivers, the Master Lock Pivot Lock Hitch Pin, like part # ML1495DAT, is only available for 2 inch hitches. If your concern is that you will lose the clip with a standard pin and clip like part # PC3 then I have a recommendation for you. I recommend using a locking hitch pin, like part # TR63253, which has a bulky lock in the place of a clip. Not only will it be easier to find on the ground if you dropped it,...
