Pre-Galvanized Steel
Pre-galvanized steel parts are stamped from a sheet of steel after it has already been galvanized. The edges of the pre-galvanized parts often lose their zinc coating during the stamping process. Because of the thinness of the coating (less than 1 mil) and the fact that the edges remain exposed, pre-galvanized parts can begin to oxidize and rust quickly, so it's recommended that they be primed and painted.

the fenders are perfect after on year. The reason I replaced the original ones was because somebody crashed into my trailer, and bent the left fender up. The trailer was a galvanized finish. And when I restored the trailer, I touched it up with galvanize paint, but when it dried it looked like primer. So I went ahead and painted it black. I used metal etching primer after grinding the trailer clean with a wire wheel. Then I painted it black with rustoleum, out a spray gun. Instead of returning the fenders I bought that were galvanized, I treated those the same way as the trailer. I scuffed them up with sandpaper, sprayed a metal edging primer on it, and then sprayed those with appliance epoxy paint. The whole trailer still looks fabulous including the fenders.
These were perfect for the 13" rim and tires that I ordered. Note that fenders are galvanized, so you will need to use an etching primer it you want to paint them so it will bond.

The CE Smith Sigle Axle Trailer fender was the perfect fit for the boat trailer. Already mounted, painted and been in the water.
Ordered fenders for one of my boat trailers. The fenders were exactly what was advertised and a perfect fit. Every product I’ve ever ordered from etrailer was correct and shipped in a timely manner, undamaged.

Very nicely made fenders, nice and thick steel that made welding on some quick release brackets very easy. A good price for a good part.
I was looking to replace the fenders on my boat trailer, the CE Smith Single Axle Trailer Fender, the Pre-Galvanized Steel model was exactly what I needed to complete the job. The fender comes without pre drilled holes so it was simple to install, because it enabled me to use the old fender as a pattern, lined everything up, drilled my on holes and the new fenders looked like they were factory installed. The product details, concerning measurements, were very helpful in choosing the fenders.
I order a pair of CE Smith fenders from etrailer.com . Fast delivery, fenders was in great shape! It will be awhile before l install them, there not going on no trailer, they will be installed on my 1939 Chevy coupe! Thanks again on fast delivery an great prodcuct! I believe 5 stars should be rare and 4 being normal for good service. Ordered from etrailer many times and have never been let down. Originally ordered the incorrect fenders (not etrailers' fault) reordered these worked they out great. Delivery and customer service both on purchase and return was fantastic.
Product quality is just what is expected very good. The appearance is professional and the price is in line. I am retired and refurbish and build utility trailers when time allows. I have been fabricatnding fenders , which I think take too much time and do not represent the quality and appearance I like to present to potential buyers. I normally post my finished product on the internet when finished. .
A blown tire took out a fender on my Stirling galvanized trailer, ordered this as a replacement. Turned out to be way better than expected; a near perfect fit, looks better, and feels more durable the the stock fender.
