Works perfectly! The garbage plastic one on my new trailer broke after a couple of months. Installed this in the same holes used for the plastic one. The length was slightly different so I ended up bending this one very slightly so that the two pieces lined up.

by:

Not high quality welds and stainless steel. You need to offer a "self closing" T style door holder.

by:

Stainless hook and keeper has several rust spots - glad not a new trailer!

Our stock photos have the same marks. I believe those are weld marks.

These T-Style door holders are exactly what I was looking for for the doors on my sheds. They work perfect. This is the second set of these I have purchased from you, the first set being 5 years ago and are the 6 inch version. They have worked great and I am sure these will be no different.

The door catches are still doing great. In fact I liked them so much I ordered a second set.

Now that one year has past since I purchased the identified trailer door latch ... I thought it appropriate to review this product by way of an update. When I first looked to replace a broken plastic-like door hold-open latch on one of our Boy Scout Troop Trailers, typical of the poor quality ones used these days, I had great difficulty locating a replacement locally in the Aurora, Illinois area. I finally stumbled upon etrailer.com on the internet ... and I am happy I did! I assumed that once I located a replacement latch that I would have to use a similar plastic construction type and I was pleasantly surprised to find a quality stainless steel one from etrailer! The latch works as well today as it did when I installed it one year ago! You can be sure that any future replacement parts my Troop needs for our trailers will be sought after through etrailer! Thank you etrailer! Respectfully, K.C.L.

My Boy Scouts and I are most pleased with the products you provided for us and should we need other parts in the future you can be assured we will be contacting you!

Perfect replacement for the cheapo plastic door catch supplied on a newly purchased enclosed trailer. Took less than10 minutes to repair - took me more time to find the right screw driver than it did to repair/replace. everything I've ordered/purchased from etrailer has arrived exactly as described and quickly. No need to shop elsewhere - one stop shopping. I can't think of anything that I need that they don't supply.

As expected - much mre durable than the cheapo plastic door holder. Stainless steel has stayed looking like new - no rust or discoloring. Id buy another one if I had a use for it.

by:

The stainless door hook was in good shape when received and installed easily. I did not have to modify it at all before install as some say they did. It all depends on your application. I used it on a Haulmark enclosed car trailer side door. It works great. This is a good product that I would recommend and buy again if I ever needed one.

The door hook is still functioning well after 1 year of use. It is not rusty as some stainless steel gets. The trailer is stored outside in the elements and is exposed to all weather. I would still buy this again if I needed another.

The hold backs were a direct replacement for the ones on my 2007 Ford cutaway with Whiting doors. I had to bend the arms to make everything align but that's the way the truck was originally designed & built. I 've never seen them sold with bent arms anywhere. The only complaint is why i had to pay shipping on each part? They are very small & light. I ordered two & each cost $4.99 shipping. Overall paid about $24. for them and worth it.

They are just fine, do their job everyday

I have a 2018 Sonoma travel trailer. It came with a strut to hold entry door half way open. I removed strut and added latch to hold door all the way open.
Latch is made of stainless looks and works great.

Good quality part. No rust I used it to convert the door of my sonoma to stay all the way open works well

by:

A great replacement for the plastic version we had originally. I fully expect this unit will last longer than our 5th Wheel, and it's in great shape.

Still holding up very well. Sturdy and no rust or corrosion at all.

Great doing business with this company. The product well described and the item was packaged great for shipment. Great item and thank you

by:

Parts arrived in great shape. Great packaging. The best thing was working with Odelia K. She is absolutely a great asset to your customer service department. I was looking for specific side door bar lock assembles to replace my current ones. I did not want to drill new (more) holes in my trailer. Odelia contacted your supplier and got the actual prints for the parts for me to review. By doing this I could verify that the bolt hole center spacing was exactly like the bars I was replacing. Odelia made great follow up calls back to me and was always friendly and very pleasant. In today's world with customer service almost non existent in a lot of company's she is a gem.

5 stars!!!! Excellent product , fast service, wonderful people!!!!!!

by:

Great product replaced the cheap plastic latch on my RV door that kept breaking. I hope to get many years out of this stainless latch. Mount holes fit perfect no drilling required

by:

Works great !!! Now I need a bulb as my tail light is out!

Glad to hear that! What kind of bulb are you looking for? Is it for an RV?

Very well made and just what I needed for my aluminum stock trailer

The bracket bent the first time I used it. The stainless t-handle bent and pulled out of its mounting. Not very pleased with the product.

The item that I ordered was exactly what was needed for the job. It was also accurately represented in the picture and the description on the website. It suited our needs when we were in search of some type of door holder for a cooler door in a morgue. It gave us a simple yet effective method of holding the door open when not in use. I was very pleased with the good service, product quality, and product details. All in all, it was a very productive business experience. Thanks for the professionalism.

by:

Received trailer door retainer promptly and in excellent condition. It was exactly what we needed to replace the original plastic one. The price was extremely reasonable. Thank you etrailer.com.

by:

We are very happy with our trailer door holders. They are stronger than the plastic ones we replaced. We spray painted them white to match our trailer.

by:

I came across etrailer.com by accident ( surely not). Sooner Trailers no longer makes these tie backs for my model/year of trailer. I'm SO glad I found you. Can't wait to get this installed, with an extra for good measure.

by:

Received the trailer door latches almost immediately after placing the order. Thank you for your prompt and speedy filling of my order. Free Spirit Farm

by:

Great product ! works great, And it looks better than the old plastic one . I replaced the old plastic one on my enclosed car trailer. Fast delivery

by:

The RV door latch (PLR9-SS) arrived in excellent condition and is much stronger than original manufacturer's plastic latch. The website is well organized and easy to navigate.

by:

Installed quickly modified the t-part a little bit in a vice and had to use my own screws. Works very well on my 1975 16 ft cardinal travel trailer

by:

This product fit the holes in our travel trailer perfectly but wasn't in line to latch, so my husband had to put it in a vice to bend it to make it work. Other than that it worked perfectly.

  • T-Style Hook and Keeper Door Holders for Cargo Trailer
I have a solution for you but the largest size we have in the style you referenced is a 6" T-Style Hook and Keeper Door Holder item # 37210525. This one is also stainless steel and comes with mounting hardware. For a 10" long door latch we have the T-Style Hook and Keeper Door Holder for Enclosed Trailer item # 37210482. This is a plastic latch with a different ball style attachment. I have linked a review video.

  • How to Pick Out Replacement RV Roof Vent Lid
Picking out the correct replacement RV roof vent lid comes down to looking at the hinge setup that's left on the assembly mostly. That's typically the best indicator as well as the handle setup that cranks the lid up and down. For the door keeper it sounds like you have a plastic one like the part # 37210465 and want a metal option like the # PLR9-SS which is stainless steel. I would have to see a picture of the light lens to know if it's something we offer as a replacement.

What we have is a Hook and Keepr # PLR9-SS in stainless steel, # PLR9-A in aluminum, and # 383400 zinc plated. These are used to hold trailer doors open similarly to how you are using a hook and chain. One piece is conneted to the side of the trailer and the other is connected to the door. The hook slides inside of the keeper when open to hold the door in place.

  • Are There Different Types of Hooks and Keepers for Enclosed Trailer Doors
There are several different types of hook and keepers available, most of which share the same design but there can be slight differences between brands such as tolerances etc so I always recommend you use the hook and keeper from the same brand. The Hook and Keeper for Enclosed Trailer Door part # PLR9-SS is an excellent option one which we have not had any issues with customers saying would not work. The key however to making sure the system functions correctly is to have proper alignment....

The great thing about the Cam-Action Lockable Door Latch Kit # PLR658-002 is that since it's a universal application you can definitely use shims for the cams so that everything is lined up correctly. When it comes to the strength of these, they are designed for large enclosed trailers which means they will definitely be up to the task of holding your doors in place, but they aren't really rated for a specific weight so I'm not sure how they would hold up to a horse leaning up against...
