Are There Different Types of Hooks and Keepers for Enclosed Trailer Doors
Question:
I bought a door keeper that, as far as I can tell, looks the same as this one. On a Travel Supreme that used to have a plastic keeper I installed on of these, purchased somewhere else, but no matter where you place the part for the door it doesnt align enough to work. Cabin part will not go in the door part. I even ground the the sharp inside edges to make it have more space to go in but it will not work. Are there different ones? If I buy one from etrailer I want to be sure Im not getting the same one that doesnt work.

There are several different types of hook and keepers available, most of which share the same design but there can be slight differences between brands such as tolerances etc so I always recommend you use the hook and keeper from the same brand. The Hook and Keeper for Enclosed Trailer Door part # PLR9-SS is an excellent option one which we have not had any issues with customers saying would not work. The key however to making sure the system functions correctly is to have proper alignment. I recommend using tape to secure the hook and keeper at first to make sure it lines up correctly and then make marks using the brackets as your template. That should then rid any alignment issues.
