Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the 72 inch long by two inch wide aluminum piano hinge. Now this hinge will provide sturdy, continuous support along the length of your cabinet, your door, or your panel. This is great for oversize doors, trailer doors, and entrance doors. And this hinge will provide more support than your multiple small hinges. It has a nice continuous design, so to help reduce stress on the hinge when it hinged with heavier doors.
And this does rotate 270 degrees. You can see if I bend it back about 90 degrees that way, and then you can rotate it another 180 degrees. So basically, a total of 270 degree rotation, gives you a nice full opening and closing motion. Now, this one happens to be an aluminum construction, has a nice middle finish to it, to resist corrosion, very lightweight. Now this is a weld on or bolt on installation.
To bolt it on, you would have to drill holes into the hinge. And this part is made in the USA. A few dimensions on this, we'll start with the overall length. If I take our tape measure, we go from one end all the way to the other end. It's about at 72 inches.
So tall as six feet in length. The width of it and we're gonna zoom in on that. And the width would be at the widest points. So when it's folded into the widest, it's gonna be this way. So you can see the width is gonna be right at two inches wide.
That's the open width. And then the knuckle length, each one of these little sections on the hinge is a knuckle. So the length on the knuckles are gonna be right at a half an inch. And the pin diameter that's in this piano hinge is gonna be 1/8 of an inch. And again, you can see as you rotate this hinge, just like that. But that should do it for the review on the 72 inch long by two inch wide aluminum piano hinge..

Was very surprised with the quality of the hinge for the price. etrailer went above and beyond with packaging and shipping. Very impressed with the quality this hinge. I had to repair my FlipBak tonneau cover. This hinge will provide superior security over the original piece of rubber that those tonneau covers use as a hinge.

3 stars, due to packaging. Ordered 3 inch by 72 inch piano hinge. Packaging tube arrived without hinge, cap on end was missing.Went to post office to see if they seen it and they did. Brought it home and is in working condition.

used cobalt drill bit drilled 4 holes in hinge on corners with paper to keep door space for future paint ,drilled holes in hinge only just touch wood ,undid 4 screws ,recessed wood with bur thing ,punched stainless hinge into wood, screwed in screws near flush ,very clean super price and strong ,thank you

Very well constructed as we needed a heavy duty weld on hinge and this was the only hinge in the market to meet our application.
