Hey guys, it's Randy here at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be taking a look at replacement heat and AC register or vent cover. This one's from Valterra, fits a four inch pipe. This is going to be almost like a direct replacement for most factory stuff. Got our brown here. We've got a tan, a white and a black.
I think they are going to do a good job. If you like the ability to just move these and close that off or just close off half of it, I think they'd be a good choice for you. They're going to do a good job. They're going to serve the purpose, but I like the ones where you can just rotate that front end. If this is the type you're looking for and if this is what you want, it's going to fit the bill for you very nicely.Basically, the only variations I've seen with these are where the screws are placed as they go in.
This one is dampenable, so we can shut the air flew off of coming through, coming out. I like the idea of that a lot, as compared to one that doesn't have that option because this allows us to really fine tune where our heat or where our air is going to be going, as compared to one that just lets the air free flow and only allows us to point it in the direction that we want.Now to do that, we move these arms. You can see when it's fully open, they sit down pretty flush and when we close it, they stick out like that. It gives us a good visual indication of whether that vent is open or closed, but something I don't necessarily like about that is that they stick out. They're going to come out from our vent surface about an inch, inch and a quarter there and I think we would run the risk, since a lot of these events are closer down to the floor, of maybe hitting those with our feet and breaking them.There are other options available where you would just rotate the cover and by rotating that cover you open and close those.
I think that's a better choice. I think I would go that way rather than this way simply because we won't run the risk of damaging it just by walking by.For the replacement process, of course we need to get our old vent removed, and see this is the type that spins all the way around the outside there. It has a center push pin. They can be varying in type, but most of the time you're just going to have a cover on the outside that protects and covers those screws, makes it look nice. In this one, we want to pull out on both sides here.
I'm just going to gently wiggle it side to side. You see that center section is going to come out and there we've got our four screws.A lot of times these are going to have a square bit. You can see there's a square on the inside, but a Phillips will also work for it. Let's just get this taken out, wood screws there, not much to it. We'll hang onto those. The cover's not going to come with the new ones. I'm just going to pull that out. See, there's our ducting material, just like a dryer hose really. There's a little staple in this one right here. We want to pop that out. Get that one out of the way. We can get our new one and slide it on.Now, we'll take our new vent there, need to get this slid in. I like to compress it on there, as much as I can, just so I know it's going to hold really well. Line up our holes there for our screws. Get that placed back in and just replace our hardware. Now, it will come with new hardware. If you're doing this, like a new installation situation, you can use that. Since we're doing it in an already existing place, we'll just use what came with it. With those installed, just take our covering, you can see the tabs. We going to have three of them around the outside. Let's get that put on, pushed into place. That's going to complete our look at the Valterra heat and AC register vents with dampeners.

Once the base is screwed into the wall/ceiling then you are supposed to snap the vent on. Unfortunately the three snap tabs are wholly inadequate to the task. The vent continually snaps off and I find it on the floor. Probably the only way this will work is for me to drill holes through the vent cover and screw it into the wall. While this will prevent it from falling off, unfortunately it means I can no longer rotate the vent to direct air flow. So, basically not a product I would recommend.
I purchased four of this adjustable airflow heat vent to replace the Airstream 2015 Classic's vents that are fixed airflow. We had too much air coming out of the sitting area vents and not enough out of the bedroom, hall and bathroom vents. The product is not as heavy gauge plastic but they swivel and control airflow as designed. Also, they are very close to the same size as the vents being replaced so very easy to install. As always, etrailer is very good to deal with and fulfilled the order quickly.

I actually bought this product for a condo, I couldn’t find anything to work. I had a round floor vent but couldn’t find anything that was actually a vent until I found this product which I thought would work. I ordered , It arrived quickly and worked perfectly! I would order from this company again , I was happy with the product and service.
Fit great, work great, install was a breeze. Bathroom was getting way too hot, and using this vent allowed me to reduce the heater's airflow into it. Would definitely recommend these vents!
I install 3 of these so I could direct more heat to the rear of the motor home where shower is located.

This vent is just what I needed to close off front facing vent in my Class C. It definetly allowed more air to be diverted to bathroom where it is needed. It shuts down 90% of air flow. I am ordering another one.
This round vent was exactly what we were looking for. Could not find one anywhere in town. So I went to the internet, and found this. It is the perfect size and will look great once we get the tile floor in. Thanks!

This works pretty good it does not shut off the air 100% it reduces it to about 30% or so. It was easy to install and should do what I was wanting. Delivery was fast got it in just a few days from the order date.
I purchased this product to shut off heater air flow to bedroom in r.v. It does slow it down a little, but does not close it off completely.
Works as intended, easy installation.
Product is made well but did not work as I wanted it to.

I haven't had chance to install yet but I believe it will work as intended. Customer support was excellent. I was contacted to tell me that the color I ordered was back ordered and given an option to wait for the ordered color or have another color shipped immediately. I elected to get another color that will work just as well. I appreciated the information and options.
It doesn't seal off the vent. Of course the arms are plastic and they did break. But it helps.
Vent arrived and was as advertised by dimension and material. Installed and worked fine.
The web page was easy to navigate and there prices were unbeatable. They also kept me informed of the status of receiving what I ordered.
