2010 Dodge Grand Caravan - Roadmaster Standard Magnetic Tow Lights

  • Removable Tail Light Kit
  • Bypasses Vehicle Wiring
  • Magnetic Mount
  • Universal
  • Roadmaster

Avoid tapping into your towed Dodge Grand Caravan's electrical system by using these self-contained tow lights. Heavy-duty magnets keep lights securely in place on your towed car.

Features:

  • Allows you to legally tow your car without having to tap into its wiring
  • Eliminates risk of electrical damage to towed car
  • Attaches securely with magnets
  • Connects directly to motor home wiring, bypassing towed vehicle completely
  • Has heavy-duty vinyl casing for superior protection of wiring
  • Meets Department of Transportation standards
  • Fits all vehicles
  • Includes 2 lights and wiring harness with 4-pole flat trailer connector
  • Length of wire:
    • Wire that connects the lights: 53-1/2"
    • Wire that extends out the back of the light: 243"
    • Wire with 4-pole connector: 35-1/2"
  • Limited Lifetime Warranty

The law requires that all towed cars have functional signal and brake lights in sync with the RV towing them. Most wiring kits require you to splice into your vehicle's electrical system, but doing this can void your manufacturer's warranty. Magnetic tow lights avoid this problem by having the wiring run underneath your car and plug into your power source.

These lights have worked flawlessly for the whole 2023 camping season on my RV towed vehicle. I mount them on the rear of the roof so they are nice and high above bicycles on a hitch mounted rack.

by:

Extremely happy with the tow bar wiring. Not one problem for the year!

by:
Jeep

They were shipped fast and arrived quickly. These are quality lights with very strong magnets. I installed them on my Jeep in no time after making some steel brackets for the tubular aluminum bumper. Would be nice to have 5 or 6 magnetic clips to place along the wire to secure it to the vehicle. I highly recommend these lights.

Timely receipt. have not installed yet. but the instructions seem simple enough.

by:
2005 Subaru Forester

I like these lights, nice strong magets hold them securely to car roof. I use them because my bikes in bags cover my tail lights. I added LED bulbs because when I tow the car with my RV these additional lights put to much load causing voltage drop and dim lights.

These lights are still working well only improvement I could suggest is if they could somehow maybe put up plastic layer between the magnets and the roof because they’re taking paint off, if they could still make the magnet is strong.

Jeep Wrangler

I purchased the Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 5,000 lbs. initially I was Leary of the product because of its low price compared to other tow bars. I now can say my concerns were needless because after flat towing my Wrangler over 5,000 trouble-free miles I have nothing negative but only positives to report. The best thing I like about the tow At is that it only takes 5 minutes to attach and unhook.

by:

by:

Fast delivery. Did a test as soon as I received the light kit. Flawless. Magnets very strong but safe for car finish.

by:

Heavy duty magnets gave me the security of knowing they wouldn’t come off. Very easy to install!

by:

I did a mock-up set-up and this kit works as advertised.
Magnetic bases are strong, it should fit my needs perfectly.

by:

is far better than I expected....very nice. I should have gotten this sooner!!!

by:

Very simple product. Exactly what I wanted. I need to do something more permanent but this worked for our trip. The most important thing was I needed it fast and I got it in time.
Friendly and informative people on the phone were knowledgeable and new their product. I will shop here again.

  • Options for Adding Lights to Flat Tow a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Behind a Motor Home
I do not have specific information on a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and diodes. The diodes simply act as a gate and gate keeper, letting the signals pass through one way so that it does not back feed and damage the electrical system. Another option is to use a light kit. We have several to choose from depending on how you want to mount them. I would recommend going with the magnetic kit, # RM-2120. No drilling, no cutting and splicing wires are involved. I have also included a link to...

  • Recommended Wiring Solution for Flat Towing 2020 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
There is an available EZ mount lamp system that you could close in the tailgate of your Wrangler Unlimited, part # EZT20B. This is basically the same setup as a magnetic mount, without the magnets. This is the kind of system that many folks start out with, because they like the simplicity of operation and how easy it is to install. However, many find they don't like the cords flapping in the wind or the time it takes to thread the wiring through the interior of the vehicle each time they...

  • Base Plate Kit, Tow Bar, Safety Cables, and Lighting Needed to Tow 2004 Jeep Wrangler
In order to use a tow bar with your Jeep, you will need to add base plates, # RM-521423-4 for models without brush guard or # 521426-1 for models with brush guard. You will then need to add Roadmaster Base Plate to Tow Ready Tow Bar Adapter, # RM-025, to be able to use the Tow Ready Tow Bar, # 63180. Keep in mind that this tow bar is rated for towing speeds of 45 miles per hour or less. The RoadMaster Tracker Tow Bar, # RM-020, may be a much better choice if you will be towing often or...

  • Base Plates, Wiring, Braking to Flat Tow a 2003 Honda CR-V Behind a Motor Home with Falcon Tow Bar
Base plates are vehicle specific so you will need to get some for your 2003 Honda CR-V. But first, go ahead and check the owners manual for any additional important information on flat towing it. For base plates, you can use # 1541-1 if your CR-V does NOT have a brushguard. If it does have a brushguard use # 1541-3. Since you have used the Falcon Tow Bar before, you may not need to add safety cables if you already have some. If you do need safety cables use # RM-643. You will also need...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2002 Toyota Tundra Behind a Motor Home
From the research I did it may be possible to flat tow a 2002 Toyota Tundra behind a motor home depending on how it is equipped, What you will need to do is consult the owners manual for your truck to determine if it can be flat towed and if so what the procedure is and what additional parts may be needed. If after you consult the owners manual and determine that you can flat tow the truck, there are 5 items you will need: base plates, tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental...

You will need the Roadmaster Standard Base Plate Kit, item # 118-1, or the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit, item # 118-3, for your 1995 Geo Tracker. If you will not be towing the vehicle often I would recommend the standard base plate kit but if you are planning on towing more often then I would recommend the XL base plates with one of the nicer tow bars for convenience. Along with the base plate kit you will need a tow bar and wiring for the towed vehicles taillights. With the Standard...

  • What Parts Are Needed to Tow a 2008 Ford Ranger using Base Plate Kit # 477-5
The Roadmaster Tracker tow bar, part # RM-020 will fit any RoadMaster XL, EZ and standard style base-plate kits. The kit you chose for your Ranger, part # 477-5, is an XL sytle bracket so it will work fine with the Tracker towbar. The Tracker tow bar is rated for 5,000 lbs. As long as your Ranger is under 5,000 pounds, everything will work fine. You have two basic options when wiring. You can use a magnetic or clip on kit that you would put on your Ranger like part # RM-2120 or # RM-2120....

  • Parts to Tow a 2003 Toyota Corolla Behind a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer
Basically, there are two options you could use. The simplest is using a Tow Dolly like RoadMaster part # RM-2050-1. You would hook it up to the Trailblazer, pull the Corolla front wheels onto the dolly, and strap down the tires. These dollies have brake systems on them to ensure the dolly and vehicle are controlled. A more cost effective method is the use of a Tow Bar, but this method will require more installation work. You would need RoadMaster part # 1165-1. These are the brackets that...

The installation of the Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit, item # 52181-1, on the Saturn Sc1 is fairly easy compared to some vehicles. I would allow a full afternoon for the installation and Roadmaster recommends at least 3-1/2 hours for installation time. Along with your base plate kit you may need wiring for your vehicle and this can be accomplished with a Tail Light Isolating Diode System with Wiring Harness, item # 38955, or a RoadMaster Tail Light Wiring Kit with Bulbs, item # RM-155, or a set of Magnetic Towing Lights, item # RM-2120.

If you have both a 7-way and a 4-way on your tow vehicle and your dolly uses a 4-way you could use an adapter to connect the # RM-2120 to the 7-way and both should work just fine. Or if you have just a 7-way on your tow vehicle you could install the part # C55384 and you would have an additional 4-way that you could use for your dolly.

  • Wiring Harness to Flat Tow a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Behind a Motor Home
The bulb and socket kit # RM-155 is not a fit for the 2014 or 2015 Jeep Wrangler so you would not want to use it. Since you do not want to splice into the vehicle wiring I recommend using Hopkins kit # HM56200. It just plugs in line with the vehicle tail light wiring. No drilling, cutting, or splicing required to the vehicle wiring. I have linked a video showing installation for you. The only other way to bypass the vehicle completely is to use a magnetic kit such as # RM-2120.
