Wiring Harness to Flat Tow a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Behind a Motor Home

Question:

I called your office Friday and asked if the RM155 kit will work on the 2015 Jeep Wrangler 2door. She advised that it should work but reading through the reviews on that product, one reviewer indicated the lights were sealed and so he could not install the light. After calling your firm, I decided to do further research and reviewed the issue on Roadmasterinc.com. Their wiring table indicates the RM155 will NOT work on 2014 and 2015 Wranglers. However, in looking at the light fixtures they appear to be the same as pre 2014 so I dont know if they will or will not work. I really do not wish to connect into the vehicles wiring so would really like to use the RM155 or some similar alternative. I did notice that the demo video for installation of the RM155 on the 2012 Wrangler Unlimited mentioned that you have to pull four screws for each light unit. However, on the 2015, there are four screws but only two actually hold the lens to the vehicle body. The other two outer screws only attach the red lens cover to the light unit. In watching your video of the 2012 installation, it does not appear that the outer screws would have had to be removed as I can see no screw holes into the vehicle body. First question - will the RM155 work on the 2015 Wrangler or not? Second question - If it will not work, do you have any suggestions other than the kit to wire directly into the vehicle system?

The bulb and socket kit # RM-155 is not a fit for the 2014 or 2015 Jeep Wrangler so you would not want to use it. Since you do not want to splice into the vehicle wiring I recommend using Hopkins kit # HM56200. It just plugs in line with the vehicle tail light wiring. No drilling, cutting, or splicing required to the vehicle wiring. I have linked a video showing installation for you.

The only other way to bypass the vehicle completely is to use a magnetic kit such as # RM-2120.
