From the research I did it may be possible to flat tow a 2002 Toyota Tundra behind a motor home depending on how it is equipped, What you will need to do is consult the owners manual for your truck to determine if it can be flat towed and if so what the procedure is and what additional parts may be needed.

If after you consult the owners manual and determine that you can flat tow the truck, there are 5 items you will need: base plates, tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking.

For base plates, you can use # 1154-1. The base plates provide a safe and secure attachment point for the tow bar. For a compatible tow bar, the most popular option is the Falcon 2, # RM-520. The tow bar is the main connection between the motor home and the truck.

Next you will need a set of safety cables like # RM-643. The coiled design of these cables helps keep them off of the ground.

For lighting, there are several solutions. If you will not be towing the truck very often I recommend a magnetic kit like # RM-2120. If you will be towing the truck often I recommend the 6 diode kit # 154-792-118158. I have included a link to the installation instructions for the diode kit for you.

And finally, most states now require a supplemental braking system on the vehicle being flat towed. One of the easiest systems to set up and use is the Even Brake # RM-9400 proportional system. It applies the truck brakes in proportion to how much the motor home is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.

I have included some helpful links to our series of articles on flat towing for you to view.
