Video Transcript for Bulldog Winch Portable Air Compressor Review BDW41002

Today we're going to take a look at a Bulldog Wenches portable air compressor. Now this is a heavy duty 150 PSI air compressor. It's going to allow you to air up your tires or anything else you might need on the go. We have this 16 and a half foot, coiled up hose, so you're gonna be able to reach all four tires if need be; if you're in an emergency situation, and you need to get all four tires aired up. That, along with our 10 foot power cable. How it gets its power is that we have these two clamps.

We have one for the positive, one for the negative side of our car battery, so we can hook it up to there to draw our power. That's also gonna be convenient for emergency situations, where you might be in the middle of nowhere, and all the power you have is from your battery. We're also gonna have this tire pressure gage on our hose. It's gonna measure our PSI for us, to make sure we get the correct tire pressure reading. Now, the air compressor is also gonna work with all of your bike tires, whether you have a mountain bike like this, or even a motorcycle. It's also gonna work for those as well. Now, the compressor is also gonna come with three different attachments for various inflation needs that you might have, including a needle, so you can air up your sports equipment. When you're done with whatever you need to inflate, you can pack it up in a convenient carrying bag to make for easy storage.

Now, let's go ahead and hook it up, and show you how it works. Now, we've got our hood open, so we'll go ahead and take off the cap of our positive side of the battery . set that to the side. We're gonna go negative first. So, we're gonna hook it up to this side, our ground.

And we'll go right here on our positive side.We can go ahead and connect our air hose to our valve stem. How it's gonna work is we're gonna push down on the valve stem. There's actually gonna be threads on the inside of this attachment. We're just gonna spin it on and you are gonna hear air leak out a bit at first, but you just keep tightening it until you don't hear the air coming out anymore. And then, it's gonna hold a constant pressure.

So, we'll begin tightening it, and then you'll hear the air, you just keep going. Now it's fully on. With our tire pressure gage, we're gonna have a constant reading, even when the compressor is not turned on. As long as that is tightened down on the valve stem, we're gonna have a constant reading. We can se we're a little bit low on air, so we're gonna come down to the air compressor, there's going to be an on, off switch on this back side . right there. So, we'll go ahead and flip it on and we'll begin airing it up. So now we're gonna see how that dial slowly goes up. We're gonna get it to the correct reading that the manufacturer of this truck wants us to have the tire pressure at.Now, what's also nice is that while our air compressor is running like that, the bottom side of our tray is gonna have these nice, rubber knobs where the platform is sitting on, and it's basically gonna absorb a lot of the vibration that you might experience with an air compressor. You kind of see that it will stay put. We're gonna turn it back on. It's absorbing that impact right there, and it's not gonna move around at all while we're airing up our tire or anything else. Now, we have the correct PSI on our tires, so we're gonna go ahead and remove it. Then, we can repeat this process for the other tires. Now with all that being said, that's gonna do it for a look at a Bulldog Wench portable air compressor.

This heavy duty air compressor was very reasonably priced and is a must for anyone with a travel trailer. Working with your 12volt battery, It is fast and easy to top tires off in your driveway or at the campground before taking off on a trip. Etrailer has great products they stand behind, shipping is always fast and prices are great too.

Used 4 times last year worked great, this year the screw on valve went bad, I replaced with a regular air chuck, pump runs but produces very little pressure. Doesnt seem to last very long.

The first time I used it meet my expectations and looks like it will meet my compressor needs, a car, truck and travel trailer, w/spares. Very impressed with its first use and how quiet it was.

Working great after a year in meeting our needs.

It's scary to be on the road and have a tire pressure monitor give a low pressure reading. It's worse when you stop at the next two or three gas stations along the way, and none of the air pumps go up to the 80 psi that your camper needs. (Bite your fingernails till you reach a truck stop.) This pump is easy to use, great for topping off the tires before the trip. It's small enough to pack along, and it's powerful enough to do what most gas station air pumps won't do. We got the version that clamps onto the battery, so we can use the vehicle's battery or the camper's battery, whichever is more accessible.

Bulldog BDW41002 Portable Air Compressor

Positives
- Motor and pump appear to be well made. Hose doesn't get stiff and kink in cold. Relatively quiet. Rubber feet under isolation tray work well to prevent "walking." Added 15 PSI to 33 inch tires in 3.5 minutes.

Negatives - Usability is lacking. Battery clamps are weak and wimpy. I zip-tied the cable to the battery compartment to prevent clamps falling off and shorting to ground. ON-OFF switch on unit makes use awkward. First, I screw the hose to the tire valve. Then, I walk back to the unit to turn it on. Then I walk back to the tire to monitor air pressure. Then, I walk back to the unit to turn it off. Finally, I walk back to the tire to remove the hose. If my calibrated pressure gauge says pressure is off, I repeat the process.

Wish list - Longer battery cable with stronger clamps. Shorter air hose that shuts off air when removed so compressor doesn't burn out. Either a better gauge or no gauge. Fix website description to remove reference to over-inflate button on back of of gauge. Mine has no such button.

Atta-boy/girl to Chris R and Hally C for great customer service.

About $10 cheaper than the [online] model. Good value for the money. I'm able to use it on my Jeep Wrangler with 35 PSI tires, my work truck with 80 PSI tires and my work trailer with 110 PSI tires. Great to have when those pesky TPM warnings pop-up. The unit and the metal fixtures do get hot after use, so be careful when handling or trying to store it soon after use.

Poorly designed and cheap.

The information I found says that your 2022 Grand Design Momentum 395MS 5th Wheel Toy Hauler has a 1621HD pin box. That would make the Trailair Flex Air 5th Wheel Pin Box # LC369535 the correct pin box for you. A Portable Air Compressor # BDW41002 is good to keep with the 5th wheel so that you can make adjustments to the air bag when needed so the pin box rides at the correct height.

  • How to Get Better Trailer on Beach with Karavan Twin Sea-Doo Trailer
If your tires are worn out and needing to be replaced then I recommend using the Loadstar ST185/80D13 Bias Trailer Tire # AM1ST79 and letting some of the air out of the tires when you're on the beach. You can keep a portable air compressor like the Bulldog Winch Portable Air Compressor # BDW41002 to then fill your tires back up before you get back on the road. By letting out some of the air you'll be able to get better traction on the sand, and since this is a bias tire the sidewalls will...

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancement for Towing with a 2016 Toyota Sienna
To help out the suspension on your 2016 Toyota Sienna while towing your camper I recommend using the Air Lift AirLift 1000 Air Helper Springs # AL60732. This kit gives you the ability to adjust how much help your suspension gets and you can reduce the air bags to 5 psi for factory ride quality when you aren't towing. Other kits that replace the bump stops don't give you this ability and they can make the ride uncomfortable when the vehicle isn't under a load. A quick and easy way to adjust...

The Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System for Air Helper Springs - Remote - Bluetooth - EZ Mount # AL25980EZ does not have components for manual inflation if the compressor somehow doesn't work, but we do have options for you. • Air Lift or Firestone Air Bags for a 2015 Toyota Sienna
When comparing the Air Lift # AL60732 and Firestone # F4155 kits for your 2015 Toyota Sienna, it's true that we typically mention the Firestone bags have a better construction, but that's normally with their standard air bags. For the coil-type air springs the quality is essentially the same. For this application I actually like the Air Lift kit better so that's what I recommend going with. Since these kits have air bags and air lines involved both off them have the same amount of maintenance...
