Video Transcript for Brophy Stake Pocket Tie-Down Anchor Review

What's going on everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at some stake pocket anchor tie-down points. So I already have one installed right here. Super, super simple and easy. So if you guys have a flatbed trailer like this, or even just a flatbed pickup, we are going to be able to get some tie-downs in this stake pockets. Fits right in.

Go on the other side hole. There we go. And then we had a little pin to secure it into place. So this is going to be great for tying down stuff like tractors. So let's go ahead and go and do it. So I'm just using a larger double J style hook.

Can either go either which way, whatever tickles your fancy. Go ahead and wrap this all the way around. If you guys are wondering what this cool strap is, this is a quick loader. It's got a spring in it, so it makes it super quick and easy to get everything tied down. But another thing that takes a little bit of time and tying stuff down is finding out where to tie it down.So with the stake pockets, it's going to make it easy to be able to get it nice and secure down, giving me a good spot to secure too.

And just like that, we are on our way. Getting this thing strapped down.Perfect. These anchor points are going to be made of steel and they are coated with a zinc finish. So they are going to resist against rust and corrosion. And of course be nice and tough.

They are going to have a working load limit of 1,600 pounds each. And we are going to have a break strength of around 5,000 pounds. So the straps have a working load limit of about 3,300 pounds. So with the combined total of the two we're getting around that range. So I think this is pretty much the ideal setup. So these anchor points are just as easy to take out as it is to put in. Of course I need to take the strap off, but that won't take much time. So just like that. All right. So I am using two today. The reason being just because we have relatively larger double J hooks here, they would fit, but main reason for this is just because I just wanted to spread out a lot of that weight. Just because we are dealing with quite a big rig here.So let's go ahead and go over some dimensions over on our other one over here. So first of all, let's go ahead and go over the inlet of the D-ring. It's going to be about an inch and three eights. And then from very top of this plate all the way down to the bottom, it is going to be about five and a quarter inches. If we go ahead and look in here, we're going to have a height of this little bracket here about an inch and a half, and then this going to be about three and a half inches long. And that's going to be the same for up here as well. And then one really useful measurement is going to be from the very center of this hole here, all the way to the very top. It's going to be about four and a quarter inches. So just make sure you guys are going to have enough room there. So when you put it into your stake pocket, we can go ahead and actually get the pin in there. It is a standard half inch pin. So if you guys have one laying around you can use that, but it does come with the kit.I do suggest getting two just because why not have both to spread out that weight. It's going to be better for your equipment, for this, and of course your straps too.All in all I'm definitely going to say that these are extremely useful, especially for you guys who just struggle to find that great spot to tie down your stuff, whether it's something a little bit lighter than this big old tractor or something bigger than this tractor. I definitely think it's going to be a great addition to your flatbed truck or just your flatbed trailer. So that's pretty much it for our look at the stake pocket D-ring anchor tie-downs.

Received the product promptly, and was packaged very well. Only used them twice, so far, and most people who've noticed them, didn't know they were available! Would like to see one more hole in the base, in order to have the unit fit snugly in the trailer pocket. The stake pockets on my Tractor Supply aluminum trailer are 2" deep. The anchor can slide up and down about 2 1/8". This isn't a big issue, but can have an effect when the cargo bounces in the trailer, possible allowing the tie down straps to loosen. I can fit a small spacer to fill in the gap. Absolutely great item that solves the problem with trailers that only have 2X4 stake pockets, and no "D" rings to hook cinch straps, and tie downs to. Very happy with the product, and strongly recommend to anyone with a trailer! J. K. from Buchanan Mi.

These are useful tie downs although they are designed to be one size fits all and as we all know, stake pocket depth is variable. The dept of the retaining pin provides plenty of room but is far too deep for my application. Obviously when a load is put on the rings, they slide upward and perform fine. I just prefer a more snug fit with less rattle when not being used. I will remove these when not in use, to prevent the rattling around. I was pleased that they were not overly engineered and heavy. Appear strong & useful for almost any application. I wish a heavy wall Aluminum version was available, maybe someday?

Excellent and handy. I keep them in the trailer box so they don't disappear. Use them a lot. No negative issues and versitile.
