Features:

  • Standard-duty D-ring tie-down anchor provides a solid attachment point for ropes, straps or chains
    • Lets you anchor cars, ATVs, riding mowers, and other heavy cargo on your truck, utility trailer or enclosed cargo trailer
  • D-ring rotates 180 degrees so you can attach your rope, strap or chain from multiple angles
  • Forged steel construction is more resistant to wear and deforming than standard steel
  • Weld-on installation to most flat, steel surfaces

Specs:

  • Maximum load (break strength): 15,000 lbs
  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 5,000 lbs
  • D-ring dimensions:
    • Thickness: 5/8"
    • Inner dimensions: 3" wide x 3" long
    • Overall width: 4-1/4"
  • Mounting bracket dimensions: 2-1/2" long x 1-7/8" wide

Video Transcript for CargoSmart Tie Down Anchors - Trailer Tie-Down Anchors - 3481762 Review

Speaker 1: Today we're gonna take a look at the CargoSmart weld-on forged D-ring tie down anchor. This has a 5000 pound working load limit. Now this forged D-ring will add an extra anchor point for your trailer, truck, or van. It's a heavy duty steel construction, and as you can see, it is a weld-on installation. It is for a quantity of one. The anchor point diameter is gonna be right at five-eighths of an inch.

Now, the measurement of the horizontal inside diameter of this ring is gonna be right at three inches, and the vertical inside diameter of the ring is also right at three inches.Safe working load limit on this is 5000 pounds. Maximum load or braking strength on this is 15000 pounds. Now, one note I do want to mention is on tie down anchors, they must be chosen according to their safe working load limit, because the weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined working load limit of the anchors being used. So for example, if you're using anchors with a working load limit of 100 pounds each to tie down a load weighing 400 pounds, then you're gonna need at least four of those anchors to safely secure that load, and it is recommended that you always use anchors in pairs. But that should do it for the review on the CargoSmart weld-on forged D-ring tie down anchor with the 5000 pound working load limit.

  • 5,000 lb Weight Rating of CargoSmart Forged Steel D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor Explained
The CargoSmart Forged Steel D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor # 3481762 has a break strength of 15,000 lbs yes, but the 5,000 lb rating if the safe working load limit (WLL). The difference between the two is the break strength is the point where the metal will break while the WLL is the number you want to keep your cargo from exceeding. The WLL is what the manufacturer has tested and approved the tie-down to be safely used at without any fear of the tie-down failing.
