Today on our 2016 Dodge Dart we'll be taking a look at the Yakima Roof Rack Kit. This consists of the Yakima JetStream Crossbars, part number Y00425, the BaseLine Towers, part number Y00146, and two sets of base clip fit kits, first one is part number Y06118 for the front, and part number Y06123 for the back. The Yakima Rook Rack Kit will allow you to carry many different vehicle accessories on your vehicle's roof rack system, whether that's bike racks, cargo boxes, cargo baskets, or ski and snowboard carriers. The JetStream Crossbars are an aerodynamic design which will reduce wind noise and drag and allow you to carry vehicle accessories, whether they're clamp-on or channel mounted accessories. The whole kit has a quick and easy installation, we'll show you how to do that next. Now everything that you see here on our table is included with our kit, the only thing you'll need to provide yourself is a flat tape measure of some sort. We have our BaseLine Foot Pack here, our end cap for our Crossbar, our fit kit for the back bar, our adapters to connect our Foot Pack to our Crossbar, and then our included tool that's going to help us tighten everything down.
Now I've gone ahead and installed this BaseLine Foot Pack here. We're going to show you how we put it together and install it onto our Crossbar. The first thing that we did was removed this weatherstrip in the bottom part of our Crossbar, we just removed that. Now, as you load this up, you'll have specific measurements here where your Foot Packs will be. Ideally you would want to reinsert this and cut it down so that you have weatherstrip on either side of your Foot Pack that's going to help to reduce wind noise and drag, but for demonstration purposes, today we won't be redoing that.
We're going to start off by taking our Foot Pack, and we'll take our adapter kit. We'll first slide on the plastic piece, just snap that into place, then we can take the metal portion, and we're going to tighten that down onto this bolt here. We'll flip this over, you'll see there's a cover. At the front we're going to open that cover, you'll see the bolt down there. We want to tighten this up so that the metal adapter tightens down. We want that metal adapter tightened down just enough so that it's even with the plastic pieces of our adapter.
Now we can slide this onto the channel of our Crossbar. We have measurement marks along the end of our Crossbar, we're going to set this to 36 and three quarter inches according to our instructions. They are a little difficult to see. When you're just about there, now we can tighten down that metal bolt one more time. Now that we have that bolt tightened down, we'll close up that door, and we're going to place on the rubber bottom portion of our fit kit.
This just snaps into place, now we can place on our Crossbar end cap and load this up on to our vehicle. Now for the placement of our back Crossbar we're going to measure from the end of our back bar to the front of our front bar, so that's going to be 29 inches. We'll do the same thing on the other side. Now we'll open up our doors and we're ready to install our clamps. We're going to first make sure this door's all the way open. We're going to take this silver piece here, and we'll secure our clamp to it. Again, we'll do the same thing on the other side. Now we can go back and forth using our included tool and tightening down our clamps. When you hear that click, that's when you know you have enough torque behind the bolt, and we'll close off our cover and just make sure we do the same thing to the other side. Now we can place on our covers, making sure we hear that click so we know it's secure. That's going to be our completed look at the Yakima Roof Rack Kit for our 2016 Dodge Dart.

Works perfect for our SUP with the tie down loops. Great for building materials as well. Looks great as well.
Excellent solution for my 2023 Chevy Silverado. In the past, I have had rails installed on the roof of my pickup trucks, but I find the BaseLine towers to be a better solution, since they don't permanently change the truck. Plus, they are much more solid than SkyLine system on the rails.

I ordered the Yakima roof rack for a 2019 Hyundai Ioniq. I went with the heavy duty one for extra strength but it is quite a bit thicker, likely increasing wind noise. So I might have chosen the aerodynamic lighter weight one if I was to do it again. Also, I needed to get larger bolts for my kayak holder to get around the crossbar. The instructions and video on website were very helpful but they did not explain well how to adjust the toe and pitch. For the toe adjustment, you have to push the metal post with the tool before tightening. That was not obvious. For the pitch, it helped to do that once the towers are attached to crossbar. Then you can tilt tower while cross bar is laying flat (upside down). I ended up having to add tilt on both front and back crossbars for them to be flat when installed. Website said only front one would need to be pitched. I am very pleased with the look and sturdiness of the product. My Hyundai Dealer had zero options for this car.
etrailer was a great place to order, quick and easy. Yakima products however are over priced and overly complicated.

These adapters were easy to install and made my system fit together nicely.
Your notice of schemes was a lot better than the yakima site provided. They did not suggest the scheme you did.
But when the products arrived, the instructions were by yakima. Generally worked as instructed except the tower to tower transverse mounting dimensions needed to be tweaked for a perfect fit.

Ackage came 2 days early the install was somewhat easy (did it by myself)
Did not get to mount anything to it but seems really sturdy. One thing I can say is mark out your mounting points with provided stickers then put up and make adjustments to the roof rack.
I had a difficult time identifying whether these were the correct adapters for the rack towers that I was purchasing to fit my tracks but that has more to do with yakima doing everything a-la-cart instead of having kits that include everything you need if I hadn't already had the HD bars on my other rack and wanted to be able to transfer them to this rack I probably wouldn't have went to this expense because I think they are overpriced.AS far as etrailer is concerned I always receive great service and products and they are always well packaged and never damaged by poor delivery care and always fast delivery speed.

The installation was super easy, and despite a long time stuck in shipping the delivery itself was extremely fast, and the package arrived in spotless condition. The manuals were very easy to follow, and the end result is absolutely amazing. They provided a nice, flush finish and hold the racks down tight.
So far so good. Purchased these towers to use on a 2022 GMC Canyon with HD bars that I already had, primarily to carry my canoe. Yakima's fitting instructions worked perfectly and the whole system seems really solid.
