How to Properly Measure for Cut-Out Dimension
There are two main dimensions you need to know when choosing a replacement speaker or adding a new speaker or speakers to your audio setup:
The cut-out diameter is the width of the circle needed to ensure the speaker mounts flush to the wall or ceiling.
The mounting depth is the depth needed behind the mounting surface for the speaker's frame and magnet structure to fit.

Ellen: Hey everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. We're going to take a quick look at the Jensen heavy duty marine speaker. This is a great addition to your boats or your RVs as well and really anywhere that you want to have a nice heavy duty weatherproof speaker. If you want to have your tunes outside and not have to worry about that speaker getting damaged by any kind of rain, wind, or salt water, or anything like that, this is a great way to go.It's a nice compact speaker, but it should still give you a really good sound since it does have the heavy duty design with the dual cones. That means that our tweeter is separate than the woofer cones that helps to give you a more dynamic range, just helps to give you a better sound from the speaker overall.
Then we have our cover to go over the top. It should look pretty nice once installed.Now this is going to be a smaller version. We have another one that's pretty much exactly the same. It's just a little bit bigger. That might give you a little bit more bass.
This one should still again, give you really good sound, but it is going to be a bit more compact. If that's something that you're looking for, this should be a good fit for you.Now, as far as the size, we'll give you some measurements here just to make sure that this is going to be the right fit. From side to side, it's about four inches wide. For that cutout portion, that's about how big it needs to be on either side or that's the widest portion that it is there. The mounting holes from the center of each is about three and a quarter inch.
It is square, so that's going to be the same going the other direction. As far as the space, so the actual cutout size here needs to be about three and a half inches, maybe three and five eighths. Then the depth going back is about one and seven eighths or almost two inches. With the cover going over the top, it does make it a little bit wider. Now the width of that speaker cover is about five inches.
The total depth, let me get a hand on it here, is about two and a half inches.The max wattage with this is 120 watts. It is again rated for salt spray exposure, standard compliance, and also UV exposure standard compliance. So it is rated to be out in the sun and the salt, and you shouldn't have really any issues with that. Of course, salt and sun eventually will wear down anything, but it should be up to the task for many years to come. Does not include mounting hardware, so that is something that you do have to pick up on your own.But that's pretty much it for our quick look at the Jensen heavy duty outdoor speaker. Have a 1994 fleetwood mallard travel trailer with two speakers that were original and blown, bought these for less then 30$ they are rv speakers so they don’t pull a lot of power, and they sound really really good for the price and it’s perfect for camping, if ur not expecting something super flashy this is for u it’s not overpriced and it’s definitely worth the money, sounds clear and there’s more bass than I expected, better than expected, will buy more of these when I’m ready, especially helps that these are the only 5 3/4 speakers I can find for RVs!
Advertised as a JENSEN speaker. But you will get an ASA speaker. Their claim is it’s the same company. I get that. They own each other. But they (ASA-JENSEN) also still manufacture JENSEN branded speakers and ASA branded speakers. So why don’t they advertise as an "ASA Heavy Duty Outdoor Speakers - Recessed Mount - 5-3/4" Diameter - 24 Watts - Qty 2" then?
Volkswagen and Porsche. If advertised a Porsche and you buy the Porsche and you get a Volkswagen, ANYONE would be upset.
Staff is horrible and will not work with you for a simple return. Carol C. passed me to Paula T. Paula sent one message basically telling me to keep them and this is why. The process was similar to that phrase about pulling teeth. I WAS going to buy other speakers from them.
Not only this, but they gave me an order confirmation of arrival for next week. I was fine with that, until I checked status. The status said next month. I got on chat and Victoria H. told me "please be more patient".
My ordering is done here and I will be letting all my RV Community know about this.

I purchased a plastic version of these outdoor speakers (I believe a different brand) a year ago. The speaker fidelity was/is fine, but the housings cracked and pretty much disintegrated for reasons I can't explain. (The ones I replaced were six years old but still intact; just sounded bad.) These metal units are lower profile and sound great, so I'm quite satisfied.
