How to Properly Measure for Cut-Out Dimension
There are two main dimensions you need to know when choosing a replacement speaker or adding a new speaker or speakers to your audio setup:
Cut-Out Diameter
The cut-out diameter is the width of the circle needed to ensure the speaker mounts flush to the wall or ceiling.
Mounting Depth
The mounting depth is the depth needed behind the mounting surface for the speaker's frame and magnet structure to fit.

Ellen: Hey, everybody. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're taking a quick look at the Jensen Marine Speaker.This is a nice way to upgrade the speakers in your RV or your boat to make sure that they are working properly. You always want to have your tunes with you, and the nice thing about having a Marine speaker over something that's just an automotive grade speaker is that it should last a lot longer. It's rated for use on the water. Especially in any kind of environment that has salt in the air, it can corrode things really quickly, and this should be up to the task to withstand that much better than your typical automotive speaker.Now, this is a dual-cone design, so it's going to have the tweeter and the woofer speaker kind of all in one, so that saves on some space. Gives you a nice compact speaker that should still give you pretty good sound as well.
So let's take a closer look and make sure that this is going to be the right size to fit your application. This same speaker does also come in white, so if you prefer that we also have that available here at etrailer.com.As far as the outside diameter, it's about 6" from edge to edge. And then in total, it's about 2-1/4" deep. For the cutout size, it's about 1-1/2", and then about 4-3/8" from side to side for that inner diameter, especially if we include that connection to our power. You can see that there are four mounting holes. The space between those center to center is a square, but those all measure 3-3/4" apart. It does not come with any mounting hardware, so that is something you will have to pick up on your own.But that's pretty much all there is to it for our quick look at the Jensen Marine Speaker. "I was looking to add two speakers to my boat that were of the same quality of the existing ones and was able to find them on etrailer with the part number that was on the existing speakers. Although I have no idea who George J, Brant B or Nicolas R are I feel like we have been through a lot together and have really bonded. Seriously though, great speakers at a decent price.
