Video Transcript for Review of Ventline RV Range Hoods - Pinnacle 24" Wide Black Ducted Range Hood With Light - VE93SR

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a look at this Ventline Pinnacle 24 inch wide Black Ducted RV Range Hood with light. This powered, ducted range hood will keep your RV kitchen clean and cut back on lingering aromas by venting greasy and smoky air out of your RV. This single-speed fan is gonna draw air in from your cooking and it vents it horizontally out the back as you can see here, and this aluminum mesh filter is going to catch large particles of grease to protect the fan and motor, and the filter can be removed for periodic cleaning and replacement. Let me just show you how easy it is to remove this. There is a catch here that you just rotate, and that will allow you to pull this filter from the tabs. This is about 7 3/16 inches in diameter, and while I have this filter out and you can see the fan here, let me go ahead and just tilt this hood a little bit, and go ahead and turn the fan on, and I tilted that a little bit, so that air can freely escape from the rear of the hood.

And so, this fan is not really loud or noisy, you can probably hear it over my microphone, but it does put out quite a bit of air in the back here, so I think that's gonna do a great job of getting that smoky or greasy air out of your RV. And then to replace this aluminum filter, the trick is just kind of beginning with these tabs here that are closest to the catch, and then just kinda move it in on that last tab there, and looks like we are in all three of those tabs, and then I'm just gonna turn this catch back into place, and our filter is secured. Now, this does have a bright LED light that's going to illuminate your cooktop and your counter to let you see what you're cooking. Let me go ahead and turn my studio lights off, so you can see just how bright this light is. And for its size, it does a great job, gives out quite a bit of light, just gonna lift this up here a little bit, and as you can see, it lights my table up very well, so I think this is going to not only light up your stovetop, but if you have a surrounding counter area, it's gonna light that up as well, and I think it's gonna be a nice little nightlight in your kitchen as well for those midnight snacks, so this light's going to be a great feature and a practical feature of this hood.

These two rocker switches on the front are going to allow you to control your fan and your light. Now, this is made in the USA of an aluminum construction with a powder coated paint that's going to resist chipping and scratching, and this stainless steel trim that currently has a protective film over it, I just wanna go ahead here and pull this back, so you can see what this stainless steel trim looks like. So I think that's going to give it kind of a distinctive look, and if this matches your decor, then it's gonna be very easy just to pull that protective film off, and that trim is gonna look great on this hood, and it'll go really well with the rest of your decor in your RV. Now, this is going to be an easy installation, it's going to screw in place underneath your cabinet. I do wanna point out that the installation hardware is not included, so if you don't have the hardware from your previous range hood, you would need to pick that up separately, and this is going to hardwire into a 12 volt line.

And I also wanted to mention that this does have a durable polypropylene shroud that's gonna protect your wiring and your switches. And the vent opening, let me go ahead and turn this around, so you can see that. The vent opening is centered on the hood's rear, and it's going to exhaust horizontally through your RV's wall. Now, I did measure this earlier, and this vent opening measures 9 5/8 inches wide by three inches tall. Now, the electrical components do conform to UL and CSA standards.

And again, I mentioned that the overall width is 24 inches wide, so let me go ahead and confirm that with you. So we're sitting at 24 inches wide and then we're sitting 18 inches deep, and that is not counting this vent coming out, this is just the range hood itself, and the overall height, we're sitting right at 4 3/4 inches tall. Now, I measured the mounting holes earlier, and looking at the top mounting holes first, going center to center, so center to center horizontally, we're sitting right at 20 inches across, and then vertically, center to center, we're sitting right at nine inches across. And then on our rear mounting holes, let me turn this around here, and looking at those rear mounting holes, again, beginning horizontally, we're sitting right at 9 9/16 inches across, center to center, and 2 1/2 inches tall. This does have a minimum mounting distance above your stove of 15 inches, and a minimum cabinet depth of 12 inches minimum. And again, this is 12 volt DC, and this is gonna draw about five amps of power. And if you are looking for something very similar to this, but you're looking for a ductless version, then I've included the item number for that ductless version on your screen, and just pop in that item number in the search field of our website here at etrailer.com, and that item number will take you to the ductless version of this, all the other specs that we talked about though will be identical. Well, that's gonna conclude our look today, I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me..

These things are OK for what they are, they work... but are cheaply made, not very efficient at exhausting smoke and fumes due to design, and leave lots to be desired in the lighting department. Add one weak and noisy fan to an orifice so much lower than the umbrella that it is mounted in, a lot of fumes can escape. I sealed up all the seams with silicone and did my best to seal my custom duct as well. I added and wired in two additional led lights directly into the fan wiring so 3 lights total come on when the switch is flicked. The overall problem is that the market options for a quality, super efficient above stove vacuum just seems to not exist. I have made due but would have to design and build my own unit to get what I really want out of an exhaust fan for my rv. Take a fantastic fan and the hood - if
they had a baby it would be the perfect exhaust fan !!

by:

Looks great. Would have liked a little more powerful exhaust fan. I replaced the Baraldi range hood that came with our Airstream as the fan would turn off if we used more than one burner. Hopefully the Ventline will perform better.

by:

The light is so bright a d the fan works great. Problem solved. Well worth the money. E-trailer is a great source for rv supplies. Very reliable.

Purchased to replace 20 inch ducted High Pointe fan/light range hood in Lance 1685 trailer after plastic light fixture came loose due to heat exposure and replacement parts were not available. As advertised, this unit was easily installed with no additional modifications needed using the provided instruction sheet. The light is plenty bright and the fan is quiet with good air flow to the outside. I notice however that the lens covering the LED light board which faces down over the burners appears to be plastic and am wondering how well it can resist heat when the stove top is in use. I intend to go camping for a week soon and will report back with an evaluation of the light function when cooking. Unit arrived well packaged and on time. I especially appreciate order processing and delivery updates every step of the way.
