Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at this Ventline chemical RV range hood. This is going to be a nice low profile contemporary black range hood with this stainless steel trim here. It's going to be a nice upgrade for your RV's kitchen. It does feature an efficient 12 volt single speed fan.
That's going to pull air in through this seven and three 16th inch diameter, aluminum mesh grease filter. If you want to clean that grease filter you can just twist that knob there and this filter does pull out so you can easily clean that up and then reinsert it just like that in the opposite direction. Slide it in place there like so and then twist that back in place to hold it. So, the air is going to flow through your grease filter there and then out your nine and five eighths of an inch wide by three inch tall rear output. So any heat, odor, smoke, steam is going to be pushed out of your RV.
So it's not going to be making the inside of your RV uncomfortable or unpleasant. This does have a locking dampener that's going to prevent any debris from entering the range hood as well as the duct which is going to be insect and water resistant. So you're not going to have to worry about anything getting in there that way. This does have the two rocker switches at the front here. You can see.
So if I get this hooked up to power very easy to do. Just connect to my ground to my white wire there. My black to my power. Then I can push on our fan button here and that will turn on the fan. Vent that through.
I'm gonna turn it off as well. And then I can turn on the light here. So, that's going to be a nice decently bright light. So if we need a nightlight at night or just need to see what we're cooking a little bit clearer it gives us plenty of light for that. There's a LED light in there. So it's going to be very efficient for us as well. Our overall dimensions we're right at 22 and one eighth of an inch wide. Just over 22 inches wide by 18 inches deep Here, from the front to the back. Right at 18 inches and our max height is right at four and two quarters of an inch tall. This does have a nice durable metal construction with a powder coated paint. That's going to help resist scratching and chipping. Our wiring compartment cover here is a polypropylene construction. So it will hold up really well for you. As I pointed out before that does have the two wire design and that is going to conform to the UL and CSA standards. And this is made here in the USA. So you can trust it's made to the high quality standards that we've come to know and trust for products that are made here in the US. So overall, I think this is going to be a really nice option for you. If you are looking for that black finish with that stainless steel accent I think this will do a good job for you. These things are OK for what they are, they work... but are cheaply made, not very efficient at exhausting smoke and fumes due to design, and leave lots to be desired in the lighting department. Add one weak and noisy fan to an orifice so much lower than the umbrella that it is mounted in, a lot of fumes can escape. I sealed up all the seams with silicone and did my best to seal my custom duct as well. I added and wired in two additional led lights directly into the fan wiring so 3 lights total come on when the switch is flicked. The overall problem is that the market options for a quality, super efficient above stove vacuum just seems to not exist. I have made due but would have to design and build my own unit to get what I really want out of an exhaust fan for my rv. Take a fantastic fan and the hood - if

Looks great. Would have liked a little more powerful exhaust fan. I replaced the Baraldi range hood that came with our Airstream as the fan would turn off if we used more than one burner. Hopefully the Ventline will perform better.
Purchased to replace 20 inch ducted High Pointe fan/light range hood in Lance 1685 trailer after plastic light fixture came loose due to heat exposure and replacement parts were not available. As advertised,this unit was easily installed with no additional modifications needed using the provided instruction sheet. The light is plenty bright and the fan is quiet with good air flow to the outside. I notice however that the lens covering the LED light board which faces down over the burners appears to be plastic and am wondering how well it can resist heat when the stove top is in use. I intend to go camping for a week soon and will report back with an evaluation of the light function when cooking. Unit arrived well packaged and on time. I especially appreciate order processing and delivery updates every step of the way.
This hood was an easy retro-fit to our stock hood. It works great and install was straightforward.
Although it was a replacement for an older model, it fitted perfectly.
