Hello everybody. This is jeff@etrailer.com. Today we take a look at this 24-inch wide vent line pinnacle, 12-volt ducted RV range hood with light. Now this range hood will help keep your RV kitchen clean and smelling good by venting the greasy, smoky the air from out of your RV. Just wanna zoom in here. It is a power ducted range hood which will draw in the smoky grease here using the exhaust fan.
You can see underneath there and it will vent it to the outside of your RV. Does use a single-speed fan which will draw in the air from your cooking and it also offers a nice, bright LED light that will shine down on your cooktop and counter so you can see what you're doing. It does offer two rocker switches right up here in the front and it'll control the light and the exhaust fan. So what I'm gonna do now is we're gonna hook it up to some 12-volt power just to show you what we're talking about. You got your two wires up here, your power and your ground.
So once we got those hooked up you can see now I'll go ahead and turn on the light and you can see with the light on I'll go ahead and turn off the overhead lights and it gives you a nice bright LED light over your cooktop. And then again if you turn it back it'll turn it off. If you need the fan the switch right next to it, right over here. You can see that that'll operate the single-speed fan. And if I spin it around actually where the duct is in the back you can feel the air being pushed out the back here.
And again to turn the fan off you switch that. Turn the light off just like that. Now they do use an aluminum mesh filter over the fan that'll catch any large particles of grease to protect the fan and the motor. And you can see that filter is actually easily removed. There's just a lever right down here that you'll turn and then you can slide that filter right out, clean it, put it back in there.
Now this whole range hood is a nice, lightweight aluminum construction. Has a powder coat paint on it to resist scratching and chipping and it also uses if you look right up here, there's a nice durable polypropylene shroud here that'll protect the wiring in your switches. And it's a nice black color. Very easy installation. Screws in place underneath the cabinet and a little hard wire into your 12-volt line. Now the vent opening. If I spin this around if you look on the back you can see it is centered on the hoods rear. It'll exhaust horizontally through that RVs wall. Now the vent opening, the width of it we put a ruler on there it's gonna be right at about 9 5/8 inches wide, overall height on it is right about three inches tall. Now all the electrical components on this part conform to the UL and CSA standards. So this part is made in the USA. Again, the specs it's 12- volt DC voltage. The overall dimensions. If we do the overall width one into the other you can see is right at 24-inches wide, the depth on it front to back that's gonna be right at 18-inches deep. Overall height. At the widest point it's gonna be right about 4 3/4 inches tall. Now the mounting distance for this above the stove should be about 15-inches minimum and the cabinet depth this will fit in this 12-inch minimum. These things are OK for what they are, they work... but are cheaply made, not very efficient at exhausting smoke and fumes due to design, and leave lots to be desired in the lighting department. Add one weak and noisy fan to an orifice so much lower than the umbrella that it is mounted in, a lot of fumes can escape. I sealed up all the seams with silicone and did my best to seal my custom duct as well. I added and wired in two additional led lights directly into the fan wiring so 3 lights total come on when the switch is flicked. The overall problem is that the market options for a quality, super efficient above stove vacuum just seems to not exist. I have made due but would have to design and build my own unit to get what I really want out of an exhaust fan for my rv. Take a fantastic fan and the hood - if

Very easy to install. Vent opening matched up with our previous hood external opening.

Looks great. Would have liked a little more powerful exhaust fan. I replaced the Baraldi range hood that came with our Airstream as the fan would turn off if we used more than one burner. Hopefully the Ventline will perform better.
The light is so bright a d the fan works great. Problem solved. Well worth the money. E-trailer is a great source for rv supplies. Very reliable.
Purchased to replace 20 inch ducted High Pointe fan/light range hood in Lance 1685 trailer after plastic light fixture came loose due to heat exposure and replacement parts were not available. As advertised,this unit was easily installed with no additional modifications needed using the provided instruction sheet. The light is plenty bright and the fan is quiet with good air flow to the outside. I notice however that the lens covering the LED light board which faces down over the burners appears to be plastic and am wondering how well it can resist heat when the stove top is in use. I intend to go camping for a week soon and will report back with an evaluation of the light function when cooking. Unit arrived well packaged and on time. I especially appreciate order processing and delivery updates every step of the way.
This hood was an easy retro-fit to our stock hood. It works great and install was straightforward.
Although it was a replacement for an older model, it fitted perfectly.
