Video Transcript for Lippert Components RV Entry Screen Door Latch Review

Today on our camper we'll be taking a look at and installing the Lippert Components RV entry screen door latch, right hand, Part Number LC201471. Also available is a left hand, Part Number LC201472. Secure your screen door with the Lippert latch. It's made out of a durable plastic construction with an easy to use spring loaded lever. Now we'll be going over some of the features and go ahead and show you how to get it installed. We're just simply going to replacing our old latch.

It was broken, so I had already removed it because it was in pieces. We just need to make sure the flat end of the latch here sits nice and flat and flush up against the screen door. We're going to be using the same holes that our old latch was on. You will need to provide your own hardware. As you can see with it being aligned up just as the old one was perfectly, it's going to strike with the striker and be perfect.

Let's go ahead and get that mounted up. The hardware I'm using here today is just a bigger self tapper. That way it goes into the same hole. Perfect. In addition to the screen door latch, you might want to consider picking up the Lippert Components RV outside striker for the screen door and that's going to be Part Number LC198252. That's going to do it for our Lippert Components RV entry screen door latch, right hand, Part Number LC201471..

Perfect match to replace our old handle.

by:

Best guess is I don't have a Lippert brand door so installation required modification to both door and handle. I was able to make it work

by:

This was the exact same size as the handle I replaced. I have it 4 stars because the hole didn’t line up perfectly so I had to drill 2 new holes, which was easily done. I will order this again so I have a replacement down the road.

by:

Made good but unfortunately didn’t work on my screen door to big

by:

Went on your site picked my camper for screen door latch and it gave me this Lipert part which was to long and mounting surface wasn’t correct. Everything I ordered in the past was exactly superior. Hopefully they can find proper one .

by:

This looks exactly like the OEM and it looks just like the latch I replaced our second door with. But for some reason, this one doesn't line up with the up and down sliding mechanism on the screen door. We are now forced to slide and open the plexi glass in order to flip this latch. I was under the understanding that these were universal for all the common screen doors. No fault of etrailer though.

by:

I had to re-drill but works great!!

by:

The unit has 2 protruding prongs which help handle stay in place but were too long for instillation. I used a small grinder and shorten them and now works perfectly.

by:

Exactley what I was looking for. Great service

by:

Great product! Works great!!

by:

I love eTrailer. Easy to find parts for my 2010 travel trailer.

by:

Prompt shipping, clear explanation of which side to get (right or left opening)

by:

Worked great!

by:

Great service and fast shipping

by:

Good fit and stronger than the last one

by:

This is not an exact fit. It had three little knobs on the back side that prevented it from resting flush. The screw slot did not have any horizontal room to move so i ended up having to drill two new holes. All in all it only took about 15 mins and once done it was a good fit.

by:

Arrived on schedule. Replacement part was exact. Thank you.

by:

Design was slightly different from the original. Holes did not align and there was no lateral adjustment. However, drilling new holes solved the problem.

by:

Shipping was fast. The right hand door-latch fit perfectly.

by:

Perfect fit!

by:

The screen door latch broke on my 10 year old camper so what are the chances of finding a replacement? They had it and I had it in two days. Great service.

by:

Not quite the same as I took off, but I made it work.

by:

This was a perfect replacement for a broken door latch on our screen door. Just determine if you need a right or left handle and order it. It is just like the original.

The door latch is working just great with no problems. Perfect replacement.

by:

This is a replacement handle because the one that came on the trailer fell apart. The screen door handle was shipped immediately. I am pleased with the service from trailer.

Great!

Perfect screen door latch replacement for my Rockwood Ultra Lite 5th wheel.
Photo is a little misleading, right hand means the handle is facing right when looking at it from the side of door it is screwed to. In my case the outside of the door.

I ordered a left hand first before I realized my mistake.
I could have avoided this if I'd watched the video before ordering.
Returning was easy, just called the courteous representative and got a return label emailed which I took to my local UPS store, so easy.

Great selection and quick delivery will bring me back to etrailer.com for future parts needs.

  • Is Left Hand or Right Hand Screen Door Handle Needed to Replace Screen Door Handle on Left of Door
What you want is the Right Hand Side # LC201471 as opposed to the Left Hand Side # LC201472. If you check out the attached installation video you can see that this door is configured the exact same way that you mentioned. The latch itself on both handles has a flat side and a contoured side. You want the contoured side facing your entryway so that the door cannot open without moving the handle.

The closest plastic slide piece that we have top match your 8x8 current one is the Lippert Screen Door Slider Panel with Push-Down Knob Opener # LC239061 which measures 9 3/4" tall x 12" wide, we do not have any that directly match the 8x8 size you need. On the other hand, we do have the replacement latch you're looking for # LC201471. This is for right hand opening doors, however if you needed a left handed latch instead you'd want # LC201472 instead.

We do sell RV screen door parts like latches like # LC201471, slides like # A77018 and push bars like # CAM42188, all shown on the linked page, but not complete doors since design and construction details vary so much between trailer brands, series and models. I wish we had a way to look up all the component parts of your 2018 Jayco Jay Flight 28RLS tandem-axle trailer trailer but OEM parts like doors are either fabricated or sourced by the trailer maker, Jayco, and to confirm the correct...

  • Will Screen Door Latch Work For 2012 Forest River Camper
Yes, the Lippert Components RV Entry Screen Door Latch - LH # LC201472 is a universal fit so it will work on your 2012 Forest River camper so long as your current latch has mounting holes that are 3 inches apart on center - you'll just need to take a quick measurement to find out. • 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD Towing 5th Wheel vs. Bumper Pull Trailer
If a 5th wheel is under consideration you will be better offer with a new long bed truck. Long beds avoid the 5th wheel turning clearance issues that come up with short-bed trucks. Short-bed pickups will need either a sliding type hitch (or a fixed hitch with a Sidewinder pin box) in order to have enough clearance to make tight turns in campgrounds. For a 5th wheel, go long bed to make life easier. If you decide to go for a bumper-pull toy hauler than the short bed truck is fine. To determine...

  • How to Pick Either the Left or Right Hand Side Lippert Screen Door Latch
When determining what screen door latch you would need either the right hand or left hand side you would need to look at the closed door from the inside of your RV. The latch location is the side of the door that it is mounted on. This would mean that a right hand latch like the # LC201471 will be mounted on the right hand side of the screen door as you view it from the inside of the RV. If you need the left hand side you would want the part # LC201472.
