Video Transcript for Review of Organized Obie RV Door Parts - Magnetic Door Catch For RV Baggage Doors - OBE57FR

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. And today we're gonna take a brief look at this magnetic door catch for your RV baggage doors. This two piece magnetic door catch is going to hold your RV baggage doors open, to free up your hands. And this is going to replace broken or outdated plastic door latches. It's going to make loading and unloading your storage compartment a breeze. Just gonna show you the strength of this magnet.

It's very, it's got a really good pull to it. This is, of course, the strike plate. I'll just give you another demonstration. And, when it's in the packaging it comes in all of these elements are gonna be tightly connected to this magnet. So, it's a very strong magnet, and it's going to do a great job of holding up your baggage door.

So, it has a nylon casing around it. And that's going to provide strength and stability. And this is going to also, because of that nylon casing, work in extreme temperatures. It's gonna work in extreme wind and rain, and even ice conditions. And it's going to do a great job of resisting scratches and other damage.

The holding weight is eight pounds. So again, pretty strong magnet. And the powder coated strike plate, that we've also been looking at together already, that's gonna help prevent rust and corrosion. And this strike plate is right at about an inch and a half long. And, looks like right at about five-eights of an inch wide.

And the diameter on this magnet, we're sitting right about one and a half inches. So this is going to be a quick and easy installation with the included hardware. Some drilling is going to be required. The magnet mounts on the wall of your RV, where the door opens, and the strike plate will mount to the outside of the baggage door. And I failed to mention that the hole spacing on the strike plate, we're sitting center to center about 15/16ths of an inch. And so, you're going to get one baggage door catch. So if you need more than one, you'll just have to add additional ones to your order. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Hell yes there great , Easy to use set the great !!!

by:

No issues and fit perfect. Quality after one year is still in great shape.

by:

Ordered 2. 1 had 3 screws, the other 4. Installed the first one & went to start on the 2nd. As I was going to find an extra screw, the screw slipped throug the metal plate. I realized a tiny bit of wiggling and the screw just pulls on through. So they are sending screws that are to small or drilling the holes in the plates to big. Going to replace the screws in the one that's already installed with new bigger stainless ones. Was going to order 2 more, but looking elsewhere now.

Built as described. Easy installation.

I used two of them to replace T-style hook and keeper door holder on the front storage door of my fifth wheel. They work great. I no longer have the problem of striking my head on the T-Style hook, which how I broke it.

Great product and fantastic customer service! Received our order in a couple of days. We've always had top notch service from etrailer!

by:

The magnet strength was okay but you have to get it perfectly aligned so the full surface meets otherwise it doesn’t hold as well as needed.

by:

Perfect thickness as I needed something thicker so my metal bracket on my door didn't interfere first with the sidewall on my trailer. Great purchase. And etrailer, as usual, has some of the best customer service around!

  • What Holders do You Recommend for Keeping My Exterior Storage Doors Open on My Trailer?
I have a great solution for holding your storage/compartment doors open. While we do not carry any latches with clips to hold compartment doors open, we do carry magnetic options. For that route, I recommend the Magnetic Door Catch for RV Baggage Doors - 1-1/2" Diameter - Qty 1 # OBE57FR. These magnets have an 8-pound hold weight and includes all hardware for installation. This set comes with a single magnet and a single strike plate.
