Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the replacement latch for Coleman screen doors. This is going to be for your RV to get that screen door latch replaced if it got damaged or just maybe wore out over time. So it's going to come with the two pieces and the mounting screws to get this installed and also our spring and the turning mechanism and that little push button to deploy it.So I have it more or less assembled how it's going to look on your RV, and basically from the outside we'll have this little push button and then our handle so we can easily push that and open our screen door. So it's going to turn that little rod inside there and deploy that mechanism so we can open it up from the inside.
We'll just have this little trigger guy and that's going to let us open our screen door by pushing on that. And then if we want to lock it, push this little tab over to the side and now it's locked both from the inside and outside so we can't get access into that screen doors. We can keep out any nosy neighbors or anybody else that might be around.It is made out of a metal construction with this nice kind of off-white or sort of a very light gray color. It's going to be a powder coat finish to help resist any kind of rust or corrosion there. Pretty easy to get put together.
These little rods have a threaded hole in there, so should be pretty easy to just take out your old one. Pop this new guy in there, get all the components lined up, threaded in place and you're good to go. This is covered by a lifetime warranty from JR Products.As far as the side to side measurement for our outside portion, it's about two and a quarter inch long by about one and three quarter inches wide. Coming off of our door, it's about three quarters of an inch deep going from where it would match up to our door to the outside of that handle on the inside or the interior, it's about one and a half inches deep going from, again, that place where it would match up with our door to the outside of that trigger. Width-wise, about two and a quarter inch.
Our bracket is about an inch wide. That trigger to the front of the bracket is about two and a half inches long.That's going to do it for our look at the replacement latch for the Coleman screen doors. The latch is really difficult for my kids to open. It fit well and installation was easy, but after camping with it over the last year my kids need two hands and a good shake to get the door to open.
Fits and works perfectly, although the outside button is a little hard to press Maybe the spring on our unit is a bit too stiff. A child might have difficulty opening the door from the outside. Overall we are very happy with the replacement latch. Thank you for making this product available.

Installed this summer and it worked great. I did have to remove door because parts fell inside the door frame . Much easier to install flat on a table, I rehing the door to the hander cables using 14 in bolts
