We have a little different style of hitch pin and clip for your inch and a quarter. This is a Trimax flip-tip. So this is gonna eliminate the need for having to have a hitch pin and clip, which sometimes it gets a little difficult. Let's just go over this one. So one, we want to go, squeeze this in, rotate it like this, and put it in just like normal. But instead of having to wrestle with a clip, all we gotta do is just flip that around and we're good to go.
This is so much easier than the standard hitch pin and clip just because we don't have to pull anything. And it's very, very easy. It's one unit too. So if you lose your clip for your hitch pin, you don't have to worry about it with this one. I'll just show you kind of the hassle I have to do with this, but just a standard one, one, we kinda have to rotate it around, and then you really gotta get your hands on it to push it in.
And this is brand new. So as it starts to get exposed to the elements, the pin typically gets a little bit more rigid and it's just harder and harder to get it in there. So this is gonna be a really quick and easier solution for that. And it's also gonna be a little bit easier on your hands. This can be used with your class one and class two hitch receivers.
It's gonna be made of stainless steel and has a triple chrome plating on the outside. So it's not gonna rust away. And that is also with our little flip on the end as well. We're gonna have a lot of different situations where this is gonna save you a lot of time so you don't have to hassle with the standard hitch pin and clip. I'm a big fan of this design.
The overall length with it flipped out is four and a half inches. But if we flip this in, I would say the usable length is probably from the beginning of this to our little notch. So let's go ahead and do that. And that's about two and three quarters of an inch. Hitch pin and clips have been around for a long time. And I think it's kind of time for a little redesign. I think this is a very smart and quick way. It's definitely gonna be an upgrade for what you're used to using. So I definitely recommend it. Stainless steel construction is rustproof.Shipping was fast. The flip-tip was a tight fit in the Blue Ox tow bar clevises. A pair of adjustable pliers and a file solved the problem.

The flip tip mechanism can be improved. I have since stopped using them and keep them as a back-up. After bending and filing on the flip tips so they would slide easier through the tow bar bores, the mechanism became difficult to operate. I have several 58 hitch pins of the same style and they all work great. There is room for improvement on this one.
