Today on our 2006 Ford F350, well be installing the Reese Quick-Install Custom Based Rails and installation kit from Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitches part number RP50082-58. Now weve already gone ahead and removed both of the rear wheels as well as lower down the spare tire out of the way. This will give us a little bit more working room. Well begin here by setting our rear rail in place. Well take some measurements to make sure its centered between the welled seems of the bed and then well measure 32 inches to the rear portion of the rail. Now youll notice that this vehicle does have a spray end bed liner, so were going to add approximately 8 of an inch to our measurement to come and save for the extra spray liner. Now that we have the rail centered, as well as at the proper measurement from the rear of the bed, well go ahead and mark our 4 locations that well need to put a pilot hole to make sure that everything will line up. Well go ahead and take our paint marker here and mark these 4 locations. Once these 4 locations are marked, well go ahead and slide the rail out of the way and put 4 pilot holes in, 1 at each of the 4 locations we just marked. Now that we have all 4 pilot holes drilled, well go ahead and go up underneath each of the wheel wells and make sure that our side plates will line up with the pilot holes we just drilled. You will notice that the side plates are right and left sides and you want the flanges to angle outward when you would hold them up into place. Now that weve made sure that our pilot holes are lined up with our side plates, well go ahead and do the step up process and ultimately end up with a 9/16 hole drilled in the bed at these 4 locations.
Now before drilling through any portions of the bed, its always a good idea to make sure that you cant drill into anything such as a gas tank, a break line or any wiring harness. Next were ready to go ahead and install our frame brackets to the frame. Well go ahead and begin here on the drivers side, well line up the 2 tabs on either side of the hat channel as these will line up with the holes we just drilled in the bed. Once we have this lined up, well go ahead and slip our U bolt in place and then loosely attach our hardware. The U bolt hardware is the U bolt mechanical tooth washer as well as a half inch knot. Now for the rear location to mount our side plate on, well be using a 5 Ace by 2 inch bolt, a inch by 1 by 3 inch spacer block, a 5 ace lock washer and a 5 ace hex knot. This would be the same hardware that well be using for both sides. Now that we have each of our sides plate loosely installed, but tight enough to keep them in place.
Now well go back up end of the bed of the vehicle and put our rail back over the 4 holes we drilled. Now youll notice that our rail actually sits on the top of the corrugation part of the bed, so well need to put the U shape spaces up underneath the bed, that way we always have metal to metal contact and the bed will not be crushed when we tighten everything down. Now to get some of the U spacers underneath the bed we did have to use a pribar or a large flat head screw driver to bend portions of the bat channel just enough to let them slide in. we also had to use a hammer to kind of tap them into place. Now that we have all of our U spacers in place, now were ready to go ahead and put out carriage bolts from the top down. Our carriage bolt are inch by 2 inch long. Theyll go through the rail then through the bed making sure that they slide through the U shape space that we just put in place, followed by putting a round hole spacer block, a lock washer and a hex knot.
Well do this for all 4 locations. Next well need to take the fifth wheel head assembly and slide it into our mounted plate and then take out unmounted plate and connect it on the other 2 prongs on the fifth wheel. This will give us our spacing for our other rail. Once we have that, well need to make sure that its centered between the welled seem on the bed as well as at the fifth wheel slides in and out of the rails easily. Now youll notice that our fifth wheel is actually a used fifth wheel as it came from another vehicle and were just remounting new rails to accommodate the used fifth wheel. Now that we have our rail in place, well take our pilot bed and put a pilot hole in each of the 4 outer locations as well as the center location. At this time, well also go ahead and put our pilot hole in the center location for the rear rail. Once weve checked to make sure the pilot holes line up with the side plates, well go ahead and step them up to a 9/16 hole.
Well do this for the 5 locations on the front rail and for the rear center location, well just step that up to a half inch hole. Now that we have all of our hole drilled out, now were ready to put our hardware in. Again, for the front rail, well need to go underneath, put our U shape spacer blocks in place then we can put our carriage bolts in place from the top. Now both of the center locations do not require a U shape spacer block. So for the outer 4 locations well do the carriage bolt through the U shape spacer block underneath the bed, followed by a round hole spacer block, a lock washer and a hex knot. Now for the 2 center locations, itll be a inch carriage bolt, a mechanical tooth washer and a hex knot. Well go ahead and tighten down all the hardware and then well torque it to the manufacturers specification beginning with torqueing the mounting rails to the frame brackets followed by torqueing the frame brackets to the truck frame itself. Once we have all of our hardware torqued down, well go ahead and show you how our fifth wheel hitch slides into the rails. Well go ahead and slide out pins in followed by putting in the locking clips and then well reinstall the spare tire that we removed earlier. And with that, that will conclude our installation of the Reese Quick-Install Custom Based Rails and installation kit from Fifth Wheel Trailer Hitches part number RP50082-58 on our 2007 Ford F350. .

Very easy to install. I watched their online videos and followed the instructions that came with the kit step by step. I had it installed in a few hours. Installed on a 2006 F-250 Superduty
Product was shipped quick and was packaged very well to avoid scratching. Easy to install with the help of another set of hands. And I have been using the rails for my fifth wheel hitch for over a year now with no issues.

Installation kit fits perfect-easy installation. Only variable was I had pre-existing air springs , so I had to mark and drill the frame brackets and install the air springs on the outside of the brackets--no big deal--worked out fine
After this set I moved the hitch from 08 f250 short box to 15 ram 2500 long box. Quick install frame bracket set was the only purchase.

Great product. Easy to install. Nothing to drill in the frame. Fit perfectly.
I purchased the fifth wheel with the mounting kit to fit my truck. Excellent product. Easy to assemble. Arrived quickly. I completed installation in under 4 hours Thursday night, and used it Friday to transport a camper with no trouble or issues. If you are planning on installing the mounting kit yourself, you will need a torque wrench capable of achieving 212 ft-lbs of torque, and some big muscles. I liked that I could track status of shipment in route easily from the link that was emailed to me. Had 2 minor issues neither was a big deal. I gave a score of excellent because the minor issues did not really affect me, but I am noting them because they may affect another purchaser.
1. The cardboard boxes that the unit shipped in were beat up badly from the handling during shipment. There were holes in 2 of the boxes, and the tubing for the handles were sticking out of the boxes. There were 2 missing parts from the mounting kit box. A 5/8 washer and one of the specialty 1/4 inch spacers that secures the brackets to the frame. This could have been a big deal, but I have washers, and I made a spacer in my shop to replace the missing one. I did not contact Etrailer for replacement parts because I needed to install the unit so it could be used the next day. My choice.
2. The instructions from the bracket kit led me to believe that I needed to drill 4 pilot holes in the bed for the rear bracket, when I needed to drill all five. This meant that I had to take the bracket back out to drill the center hole for the fifth bolt. It took me about 10 extra minutes to install the brackets than it should have. I felt the instructions were a little unclear on that step. Other than that the instructions were straight forward, simple and easy to follow.
I would purchase this product again if I needed another wheel, and I would order from Etrailer again.

System was dead on and easy to install. Everything you need is included and the side plates fit my truck frame exactly.
After one year of using we have had no problems.

Still working great with no problems & still shopping at Etrailer.
First hitch Reese RP30869 with this bracket.
I have a F250 diesel with a 6 and 3/4 bed.
We went to a home depot parking lot to put it on, in case we needed any other tools. Very simple to install.
We were able to install this hitch with the custom brackets without even taking the tires off.
Very easy, took about 3 hours, could have been faster you were to remove the tires-hard to tighten to the right foot pounds.
All you need is a few sockets-some deep and some regular, 2" and 6" extension, a torque wrench, drill, drill bits and an extra set of hands if I remember correctly.
For my first hitch, everything was pretty easy.
Etrailer was very helpful with install videos and customer service was excellent.
All pros, no cons, and it looks good too.
We got our hitch rails delivered in a very short amount of time. Due to having a gooseneck under floor ball already installed, we had a mechanic uninstall that and install our new rails. He told us they were very easy to install, but only had one bolt for the front, so he added a couple more bolts and drilled 2 holes. Other than that issue, he advised they were well built and easy to install.
We have our hitch on and the trailer hooked up and ready to go.

Bolted right on just as advertised. Easy install directions and a deal. Watch the video on installation, it goes step by step. Installed on 2005 Ford F-350 Suoer Duty, Dually. I didn't even remove the rear tires, it may have been a little quicker if I had, but plenty of room if you don't.

Towed the fifth wheel from Washington to Vegas then Utah. Works just fine.
Installed it myself for a new fifth wheel camper. Had to remove old air bags on my truck but it fit perfectly after that.
I bought this kit for my F350. It fits well, the parts are solid, and it gets the job done!
Installation took some time, just take your time and follow instructions and the end results will be rewarding and you wont have to pay the high labor rate for some shop to the work. End results money in your pocket and you know how it has been installed.

All working just fine
Ordered this kit to replace my other one when I put a new box on my old truck. It seems to be a lot stronger than the old one. I like the plates that go along the frame rail. My old one just have l brackets. Installation was smooth. No trouble at all. Was simple to bolt on. Think I had to remove my overload spring stopper that was bolted on the frame but that was ok since I am installing airbags also.
Rail kit fit well in my 2003 Ford F-350, Easy to install. Called and spoke with customer service to make sure I ordered the right kit, very helpful.
All parts came in the two packages, one box was slightly damaged but no missing parts. Will use etrailer again in the future if any replacement parts are needed for the used 5th wheel hitch that I bought
Good product quality at a fair price. Service for shipping and follow up top notch. I will be going to etrailer.com site first for all my RV and towing needs in the future !

Product worked out great !! No problems what so ever!!
Given that this rail kit is custom-built for my truck, it fit perfectly and was easy to install. I originally ordered a universal rail kit from someplace else, but as I was preparing to install it, I realized that there was to much margin for error. The instructions were unclear for my truck and I'd have to drill a bunch of holes that might end up being wrong in the end. Additional research led me to etrailer.com where I found the rail kit I should have ordered in the first place. The website had excellent information, the right products, and a great price-match policy. I should have ordered from etrailer in the first place and saved myself a lot of time.
Straight forward to instal Took longer than expected. Torque and blots were difficult.
These brackets made my life so much easier as far as the install goes. The print on the instructions was very faded making it hard to see the illustrations. But after reading the text and watching Etrailer.com's informative video for the install on the 2006 f350, it was pretty easy. All total about 2.5 - 3 hours and my brackets and hitch were installed. If I had help im sure it would have been quicker but I did it on my own. The quality of the brackets and hardware was top notch along with super fast shipping and service from Etrailer.com. Thanks!
