Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.

Tail Light T Connector Diagram

Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

ModuLite Powered Tail Light Converter

A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.

Everything went great. From ordering with verification it would fit, to speedy delivery. It showed up 2 days early and shipping was free. Everything showed up in one box. Installation was easy. I'm 59 and had to lay on my back with limited tools and it took about 2 hours to do everything solo. The longest part of the job was cleaning the threads out for the hitch on this 2007 year old Dodge Nitro. Even running the power line to the back from the battery was not that bad. It looks and works great like it came from the factory. Thank You!

All parts and wiring of the hitch I installed 1 year ago is still working flawlessly. I use it about once a week to take my lawn tractor 14 miles to and from a cutting job. Still happy with the decision!

Still working great!

by:

was exactly as described. was enough wire to run the entire duration needed. A few more zipties may have been helpful, but my no means a deal breaker. works great!

by:

By far…. The easiest and most professional way I have ever wired trailer lights to a vehicle. Simple instructions. Quality product!

by:
2012 Jeep Liberty

The hitch is marked "Made in USA"and that means not in china and that is why I chose it ! Oh by the way,the fit, finish, shipping and follow up of e trailer is great.
MADE IN THE USA,not china, nuff said.

2010 Jeep Liberty

Very nice wiring harness, the only thing is running the power wire from the battery to the back of the vehicle is a pain. Works perfect once installed!

by:

The wiring harness and instructions were easy to follow, installation was easy and did not take long to install. Works great!

by:
Jeep

Just finished installing this harness. Had to wait for a break in the weather. The rear plug in's were a snap to install along with the rear cross wiring. The rear ground was easy along with the converter box. Running the hot wire from the front to the converter box was a pain in the a--. The zip ties did not hold (most broke) and had to use my own. I used plastic wire conduit to prevent rubbing upon turns. Hope this works. Have not hooked the trailer up to check that end yet but all Jeep lights work correctly. A Vehicle lift would have helped greatly as under Jeep space was tight. Less ground clearance than my 2000.
Over all i'm pleased with all the items I purchased and will deal with them again if i need additional items. Excellent customer service and follow up.

Save the extra time it takes to send a wire to the positive terminal of my TV, this was my second vehicle to install a wiring harness. This kit, along with etrailer.com's How To videos, is a breeze!
Highly recommended!

Couldnt ask for better products and service!

by:

installation wasn’t quite as easy as I thought it would be. Running the power line from the front of the vehicle to the back was a bit of a challenge considering you don’t have many points to zip tie the wire in place or leaving it exposed to the elements. Also the ground wire was to short to be able to secure the converter box to anything solid so extending it before you begin would be a good idea. On the plus side, all my lights work!

Product is great except after towing 1 time now my passenger side rear turn signal will not work with the T-one wiring harness plugged in to that side, at first I thought it was a blown bulb , found bulb was good after I unhooked the rear passenger side t-one harness and plugged factory plug back in , the bulb is good, do I need to install a heavy flash relay? Or module? Help!!

Check the individual pins in the plugs on the harness and the plugs for the taillights of the vehicle, make sure they are seated all the way in. We saw this happen on another Dodge vehicle and had the exact same symptoms. If that does not solve it for you, there are some diagnosing procedures we can walk you through. Just give us a call at 1-800-298-8924.

Had only one problem with the hitch. The holes in the hitch did not quit match holes in frame. I had to modify them to fit. Other than that quite happy with the hitch and wiring kit.

Owning a few landscaping and irrigation companies in the past, I've always had guys that knew what they were doing when it came to this stuff. However, not this time. I looked up the parts and decided to call so that I'd be certain to get the right setup for what I needed. Out of the package I had no problems following the clear and concise instructions to completion. Plugged in my trailer, checked the lights...good. Camper battery and D.C. fridge operation while plugged in to harness...good. Went for a drive to test breaks with some minor adjustments as the instructions eluded to being necessary...all good. Very satisfied and would order again in a heart beat. Thank you for your excellent products and respective instructions.

This product works perfectly for my after market trailer hitch. Very easy to hook up and 100% satisfied.

by:
2011 Dodge Nitro

The product worked great. The only suggestion I would have is the driver side in line connection should be two inches longer, where it plugs into the actual tail light. This would make it easier to fold into the area where the wires fit better.

I would recommend this product.

I do not have pictures but other than what I said very easy to work with .

Still very happy with product. It was easy to install and worked great.

Installed on a 2008 jeep liberty, had to buy a 12m x 1.75 mm tap to clean out the threads from rust. After that installation was ok, I am questioning the torque settings, which seemed very high and
was worried about snapping the bolts. The two yellow connectors are heat shrink but directions don't tell you that. My only issue was the black wire to the battery is 12 gauge and the wire off the connector was 14 so supplied connectors were for 12 gauge. The hitch is solidly built and glad I got it done. I recommend this product and etrailer

by:
Jeep

this wiring harness was easy to install and is working just fine after a year on the road. I did have to run an extra wire to the brake light at the rear because the brake light did not work as per instructions said it would because of the way the jeep is wired. My was different then the earlier ones. etrailer is the best place to buy.

by:

I followed the insulation instructions [online] to installed my wire harness kit. 30 minutes later I was done. I also installed a Draw-Tite receiver hitch. Total install time for both units was just over an hour. Would recommend to a friend.

by:

I received the product in a timely manor, product is exactly as I had ordered and the price was right.
They provide colored - easy to follow installation instructions specifically for my vehicle, making this a question free installation.

Great - but I sold the jeep liberty and bought a more powerful jeep cherokee

by:

This wiring harness was plug and play. Easy to install. The only thing that was a little odd was the placement of the converter box. I put mine down in the bumper on the left side, but it's a little hard to get in there and secure it. I would buy Tekonsha again.

Priced right. Speedy delivery on time. Easy instructions and on-line
video made for easy installation. Trailer hitch and wiring harness for
2011 Jeep Liberty to tow small boat and atv trailer, bike rack etc.

by:

Product arrived in expected time frame.Directions were straight forward, took approx 1hr-1.25 to complete hitch install and wiring.Biggest thing is to take the time to run a tap into the holes your going to use .*(makes the process go so much smoother.) wiring pretty much plug and play.**
A little expensive but well worth it.

by:

We ordered the Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch and T-One connector for our 2012 Jeep Liberty. The quality of the hitch is excellent, the wiring harness is perfect. etrailer's videos and expert's recommendations are spot-on. Thank you for the great service and products!

2012 Jeep Liberty

I received the wiring more quickly than expected and it took very little time to install on my 2012 Jeep Liberty. The instructions were super easy and everything worked as expected. I got my trailer hooked up and my sea doos out on the water more quickly and for less than half the cost from a shop. So easy even this chic was able to do it. Thank you etrailer!

2008 Jeep Liberty

Installed this on my 2008 Jeep Liberty Sport. It was very easy to install and of good quality. The only thing I changed was, I used a couple heat shrink connectors instead of the ones that came with it to help a little bit better against moisture and corrosion. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase
