4-Way Recommendation for 2012 Jeep Liberty with 7-Way

Question:

I have a 2012 jeep Liberty 4x4 and I need a flat four connector for a small no brakes utility trailer I own. The Jeep came with a factory tow package with the 7 pin connector. I tried to install a flat four connector by tapping into the existing connector wiring but the turn signal lights and brake lights wouldnt work. The Jeeps lights work fine and the trailer lights work fine when connected to my Toyota truck. This has got me baffled. Would this adapter work and help with this problem? Thanks for your

Since you have a 7-way installed already on your 2012 Jeep Liberty I have a much easier solution for a 4-way but the part # 118554 would technically fit and work.

Instead the part # 118384 would be much easier to install and use. This will plug in line with the 7-way at the rear of your Liberty and then will provide you with a 4-way.
