Troubleshooting a Trailer Taillight that Stays on with Vehicle and Headlights Turned Off

I had bought my wire harness from you about four or five months ago and installed it. It worked well till tonight. The right side tail light on my trailer stays on bright. Even when the jeep ignition is turned off. The bulb is good. I ended up unplugging the wire harness for the night so it would not run my battery down. What can I do to solve my problem?

It sounds like the converter box of the Tow Ready harness part # 118554 that you installed on your 2009 Jeep Liberty has shorted out. Typically when we see a trailer light that stays on the reason is that the box has shorted out. To test the wiring harness to be sure if the harness has shorted out check out the video I attached on the subject.

Chances are there is a short on the trailer wiring that caused the converter to short out. You will want to track down and fix this before you install a new wiring harness otherwise it will short out as well.
