Where Does T-One Vehicle Wiring 118554 Connect on a 2010 Jeep Liberty Sport
Question:
Where do the 3-way connectors attach to the car? What is the transformer looking item in the wiring harness? My 2010 Jeep Liberty Sport did not come with a towing package installed as it was sold as a Fleet Vehicle.

The connectors on the # 118554 wiring will plug into the back sides of the tail lights on your 2010 Jeep Liberty Sport. To access the back of your tail lights, open the tail gate and remove the two clips holding each light in place. Once this is done they should pull out toward you.
You will see factory wiring running into the back side of each light. Unplug this wiring, and plug the matching connector from the harness into the port on the back of the light. The other connector on the wiring will plug into the factory wiring, forming a T shape behind both tail lights.
The # 118554 wiring features a circuit protected powered converter to prevent damage to the wiring on your Liberty. The black box at the center of the wiring harness is the powered converter, and you will need to run the power wire for the unit up to the engine compartment to connect to the vehicle positive battery terminal. You would install the included fuse in line with this power wire.
As you make the connections, I would recommend adding a dab of dielectric grease like part # 11755 inside the plugs to protect the wiring from moisture.
You can view the installation instructions for the harness at the link provided.
