Installation

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove either the tail light assemblies or interior trim panels to access this harness.

T-One Connection Location Points Behind Tail Lights

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed either in the jack storage compartment of your cargo area or beneath your vehicle, near the trailer hitch. A mounting bracket (sold separately) is recommended to keep the connector secure if you are mounting it near the hitch.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

This trailer harness has performed perfectly over the past 12 months. I would definitely recommend it to others.

This website is awesome. The amount of accessories that you can find for one model is amazing. And for each of those parts there are informational videos on how to install it.

1998 Ford Van

Product arrived very quickly and was very easy to install. I was absolutely dreading wiring the trailer little on this van and this harness made the job very simple!

Been a year and the lights are still working like a charm! I highly recommend this product!

by:

I had put off wiring my van for a harness to go with my trailer because just the idea of running wires and tapping in to the right places, testing it all and sealing it back up was full of concern if I would get it right, how much time it would take, ... I was thinking just how frustrated I might become and so I put it off over and over again.

Then I found your site and your information. I looked up my vehicle and the part I needed. I called your number and spoke with a very helpful customer service representative. She looked up the instructions and even read part of it to me. She said the harness has two leads that just go between your tail lights and the wiring from your vehicle. They just plug right in.

I ordered the part with 2 day shipping and it came right on time. Installation was a snap. I was probably done in 15 to 20 minutes in all and the trailer lights work perfectly. The job I needed to do the next day was a breeze because I now had access to the trailer with confidence.

I even went to the store I bought my trailer from and told them about you all so they could tell other people.

Thanks for being so helpful and providing such a great product!

2002 Ford Ranger

I love it. Went all over town looking for help with the trailer light hook-up truck side for a 2002 Ford Ranger. I was told that the truck was factory pre-wired and there was nothing that could be done but follow the wires to find the problem and then fix the problem. Cost about $75.00. Called etrailer and they told me how to do the repair without the hassle. Ordered the part, fixed it in about an hour. Thanks etrailer. You saved me about $50.00. The harness was easy to use, just open up the lights and snap in the plugs.

by:

seam like it took a long time to get product after it was order

by:

First off with all the information available to you on the etrailer website it would be hard to buy the wrong parts. With that information I already knew what needed to be done before my wiring adapter came. The instructions were also easy to understand when i looked at them. The adapter easily plugged into the back of the tail lights just as described and my trailer lights worked perfectly. From order, to emails about my order to a quick delivery this could not have been any easier. This is my third time ordering from etrailer and I always look at there website when I need to set up for towing. Sorry no pics job was to easy.

by:

Used this to tap into my turn signals for my snow plow. The wire loom was very short next to my turn signals and this allowed me to tap into the tight bend with plugs instead of splices. These will keep the connectors from corroding. I am glad I found these for my Excursion, it saved a lot of frustration of trying to splice in tight areas. I highly recommend these for any project. Well worth the money.

2000 Ford Ranger

The harness is easy to install on my 2000 Ranger. I have a set of magnetic trailer lights that I used to test it and everything worked right (left, right, brake, backup). This is my second purchase of this harness. The first one I pushed the loose wiring up into my spare tire with the intention of fastening it with tie-wraps later. When I saw the torn wiring hanging loose later, I realized what I forgot to do. On this one I fastened it as part of the installation (words to the wise).

by:
1997 Ford F-150 and F-250 Light Duty

The running lights on my trailer would not work because of a short in the wiring harness on my truck. I purchased this harness from etrailer which took about 20 minutes to install. Now all the lights are working on my trailer. I would definitely recommend this product.

1997 Ford Van

I've bought a tow hitch and parts for a boat trailer I was building. These guys have the best service, the cheapest price, and the highest quality parts. I would rather wait the couple days it takes to get my order and have it right than to have to scurry from store to store dealing with some sales person that has a whole 8 hours training (maybe) trying to find what you need. Anyway, etrailer solves that problem. Thanks

by:

It's a nice harness

Ford

I would have given it 5 stars but the connectors were not correct for my vehicle. This claims to fit a 2002 Ford Sport Trac but my plugs are slightly different. I had to modify this connector a bit which slowed what would have been a quick easy install. Ford may have used slightly different connectors on certain Sport Tracs that year but the manufacturer of this connector should be aware. Fortunately it was just ringing out one of the tabs blocking it from going together. etrailer's price was lowest and the delivery was prompt. I am a return customer.

Easy to Install. Works great. Just needed a tie-wrap to fasten trailer connector to truck body to keep it from hanging down. I bought one earlier and tried just wrapping the wiring around a brace, but it worked loose and tore off. No problems now.

by:
2000 Ford Ranger

Product, item 118344, fit as instructed on my 2000 Ford Ranger XLT. Easy to do, only taking about 30 minutes to install within the factory harness/connectors. Instructions seemed a little vague to begin with but after looking at product and reading directions again all made sense. The T-One wiring harness works great and the harness wiring length was more than enough to make fitting and routing easy underneath my truck. Thanks to your Expert for all his assistance and if needed, will do business with you again. I have, and will continue, to recommend your business. Howard

2001 Ford Explorer

this kit came extremely fast. I ordered on the weekend and had it in my hand by mid-week. although my vehicle was not named in the instructions specifically, it was still not hard to install. It took longer to route the wires under the plastic trim than anything else. My Ford is 10 years old so sometimes things don't always go right. but this kit worked perfectly. Took about 20 minutes. I highly recommend Etrailer.

by:
1999 Ford F-150

I ordered a T-One Wiring Harness with 4 Pole Trailer Connector for a 1999 Ford F-150 late on a Friday. I received confirmation of my order and notice of shipment the same night. The wiring harness was received Monday and installed the same day. Two day turnaround on my order was fantastic. The instructions made installation easy. eTrailer.com knows what good customer service is all about. I will certainly recommend them in the future.

by:

I have ordered several hitches and wiring kits in the past from eTrailer and will continue to do so if the quality, price and exceptional service remains. Because of receiving earlier than expected, I have not installed my most recently purchased receiver hitch and wiring harness but I have unpackaged it and all looks to be top quality and intact.

by:
1996 Ford Van

Received the Draw-Tite hitch (#75703) as scheduled. On my 96 Ford E-150 van installation was very simple only had to drill two holes. Also the wiring t-connector kit (#118344) installed easily. Both products were excellent quality.

by:
2000 Mercedes E-250

Product was easy to find on the website, good price, fast delivery and snapped right in. Actually I was just here to find a couple of receiver hitches that will fit Ford E250 vans and this wiring harness was recommended on the same page. Much better than my last hack-job trying to wire in trailer lights myself.

I am pleased.

  • Why Would Trailer Wiring Not Work When Vehicle Headlights are On
This sounds like a classic ground problem. A bad or weak ground will show up when there is more load on the system. That is why when you turn the vehicle lights on, the constant draw of the trailer running lights creates more of a load and the bad ground shows up. There are some common places to check for a bad ground. First make sure all of the trailer lights and the main trailer connector are attached to clean and corrosion free bare metal surfaces.
