Expert Reply:
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118344 connects in line of the tail lights for your 2000 Ford Ranger. This is designed for vehicles that do not have the factory tow package wiring. It receives a signal for the running lights and turn signal/brake light on one connection, while the other connector receives signal for the other turn signal/brake light and ground connection.
If your Ranger has the tow package connector the Reese Multi-Plug Wiring Harness # 74682 will connect to the factory connection.
