Troubleshooting Wiring Connections Based on Color Code for 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT
Question:
I need the wiring color code for my 2003 Ford sport trac xlt 2 wheel drive. I am trying to wire my 1997 W-W 2 horse trailer to work with my sport trac

Expert Reply:
For a standard trailer wiring like the custom T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118344 for your 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac, the wiring colors will be consistent with most trailers. The 4-way flat connector will have 4 colored wires:
white-ground
green-right turn/stop
yellow-left turn/stop
brown-running lights
Your horse trailer should have the same functions in the matching locations even if the colors are not a match. I've attached a wiring article to assist. Let me know if you have further questions.
