The T-1 Vehicle Wiring Harness you referenced, part # 118344 would plug inline into the existing wiring harness behind each of the tail light assemblies on your 2002 Explorer Sport Trac.

The lead with the yellow wire is for the drivers side, and the lead with the green wire is for the passenger side.

Access the rear of the tail light assembly by removing it from the vehicle. The factory wiring harness plugs into the rear of the assembly. Unplug the harness by depressing the locking tabs and pulling gently. One end of the T-1 would plug into the tail lamp assembly, the other end plugs into the factory wiring harness. The cavity behind each tail light assembly is open to the bottom of the vehicle, so the wiring can be passed through to the bottom of the vehicle and across to the other side.

Once installed, I would recommend using some sort of mounting system or bracket to keep the 4-pole connector in place. The Mag-Flat Mounting Magnet, part # 38095 is a popular choice. We also offer a mounting bracket, part # 18144. This bracket can be simply attached to the bottom of the bumper using the included self-tapping screws.

If you do not wish to mount the bracket to the underside of the bumper, a no-drill option is available. Part # 18140 can be attached to the hitch, which would provide an attachment point for the bracket.
